This year, we are submitting documentation for approval to DCR to hold the race for our 11th time. We look forward to having you be a part of this amazing event!
Race Specifics
DATE: August 22, 2026EVENT TIME: **We have submitted paperwork for DCR permit for August 22, 8-2pm for the 6 hour event. The 4.2 mile event will start at 8:00 am REGISTRATION COSTS: Early bird until December 1st, Regular Registration afterwards. 18 and UNDER Register for 1/2 Price! Use code SUPERKID! TIME LIMIT: 6-Hour Ultra Event. Run/walk as many laps as you choose of the 4.2 mile course before cutoff. No partial laps will be scored. (Note: .75 mile "mini jug" loops to be used the last hour of the race. No incomplete 4.2 mile laps count after 6 hour mark. BENEFICIARY: This year's event will be benefiting the Louison House in North Adams, MA, which is the only homeless shelter and support organization serving northern Berkshire County. We have donated more than $10,000 to Louison House through this event! The 4.2 Mile John G Memorial Run will donate profits to Dana Farber. LOCATION: Jug End State Reservation, 120 Jug End Road, Egremont, MA (If you type in Guilded Hollow Road, it seems you will have better luck finding the parking lot. There will be a sign at the end of the parking lot that connects out to Jug End Road though.)COURSE DESCRIPTION: 4.2 mile course through woods, fields, apple orchard. Approximately 2.1 miles of uphill and 2.1 miles of downhill per lap. 830' elevation change per lap. Follow the Jug End Loop Trail and includes upper loop.UPDATED Route Description: At 5:00:00, the route to the upper loop remains open, but no partial laps will count. We will also open a .75 mile mini loop to use for the last 60 minutes. My hope is this will allow folks to get the necessary distance to hit milestones (1/2 marathon, marathon, 50k).AWARDS: Overall Awards for Top Male and Female. Age Group Awards are expanded for the 6 hour to include: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ Unique Finisher's Award - 16 oz Handmade Ceramic Mug for all finishers. ABOUT It’s time to give meaning to mountain running!Climb It For Climate is returning for another year in the Catskill Mountains at Belleayre! Sitting just under 3500ft, this formidable mountain offers epic views of the stunning Catskill High Peaks around every turn. Runners participating will have the option of a 25K or an 8K. We have added an early start hiking option this year for those that want to enjoy the course, but don't want to be chasing cutoffs. CARBON This is a zero carbon event, meaning we take into account the emissions released in relation to hosting this trail race. The Running Kind will be subsidizing the cost to offset the event, however there will be an extra $1 added on to your registration specifically for this cost. This $1 will offset the carbon emissions for your personal travel to and from the event. We are excited to partner with Native Energy to support a carbon offset project we believe in.In addition to going zero carbon at this event, The Running Kind will be collecting monetary donations for The Catskills Center. Join us for the 3rd Annual North Branch-Hortonville Firehouse Race on Saturday, August 29th, 2026. The race begins at the North Branch Firehouse and ends at the Hortonville Firehouse, in time for the start of their Annual Field Day! All proceeds will benefit the North Branch Firehouse to help operations and emergency response capabilities for our local volunteer firefighters. Finishers will receive medals and a free drink at the Hortonville Field Day Beverage Tent by showing their bib (21+ only). Guaranteed race shirt for early registrants!
