Join the Albany Ride For Missing Children - a powerful 100-mile cycling event dedicated to raising awareness to protect children. On September 25, 2026, The Ride will roll through the Capital Region
on a new route, bringing together riders, law enforcement, and the community to raise awareness, educate children, and honor missing children and their families.
Our Mission
Funds raised directly support the Albany Ride for Missing Children, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of missing and exploited children and supporting child safety education initiatives. Through advocacy, community engagement, and education programs, we work to make the Capital Region safer for children.
About Ride Day
Take part in a life-changing experience as we cycle a well-organized 100-mile route through the Capital Region. The Ride is conducted in a 2x2 formation, paced by local law enforcement to provide safety. Along the way, we’ll visit local schools to share the excitement of the Ride and reinforce important child safety messages. Silent tributes are also held to honor law enforcement and families of missing persons who follow us along the route.
The Ride is fully supported with SAG vehicles, food, drinks, and transportation of your personal items. Rest stops are placed at intervals of 5-15 miles, ensuring riders have plenty of opportunities to refuel and recharge. Every mile we ride helps raise awareness and honors the children we ride for.
New Riders Welcome
We welcome cyclists of all levels, Orientation Rides (OR) are offered from May - September to help prepare for the event. ORs are a fun and essential part of the journey, allowing riders to get comfortable with the ride format, learn about our mission, and connect with our incredible community. Even if you're undecided about joining The Ride, you're welcome to join an OR—no commitment required. Just bring your bike and and enjoy the experience of cranking some wheels with us!

You are about to enjoy one of the best cycling events in New England - during Vermont's fall foliage season. We are looking forward to meeting you and having you enjoy our mostly quiet backroads, miles from big towns, for some terrific cycling. And don't forget our after-party on beautiful Town Hill, overlooking the Green Mountains of Vermont, where we'll have a live band and great food and libations.
How to earn a Hungry Lion Bike Tour pro cycling jersey …
Once again, this year, we are offering two options to earn our unique jersey (last year's version shown below) - You can pay $100 with your registration OR you can follow the former procedure by agreeing to raise a minimum of $300 in sponsorship donations (not hard to do!) by the day of our event. As always, this one will be a collectors item as it is designed with original art by a local Vermont artist. All you need to do is select your preferred method and include your size (Womens' sizing is available) at the registration page. Then we will know that you are on board to help fight hunger in southern Vermont! Let's do this - thank you!

If you're planning on same day registration at the event, try to arrive 45 minutes prior to the start of your tour; a half-hour for pre-registered guests. If you would like to register by check, please make it payable to Deerfield Valley VT Lions Foundation. And of course, bring your water bottle and helmet. We'll have food, rest stops, and sag along the way.
Preregister beginning on July 1, 2026 for our best current rate! (Rates increase as the event nears.)
