Join us on September 18th and 19th for the 2nd Annual Ruidoso Runfest, featuring a weekend of running, local bands, food trucks, and the Downshift Brewing Company beer garden. This will be a family-friendly weekend hosted by the Village of Ruidoso Parks & Recreation dept.
Friday night kicks off the weekend with the Pizza Hut 5K and Kids 1K fun run. Finish line at Wingfield Park will host the awards for the 5K, along with music, post-race pizza provided by Pizza Hut, and a beer garden.
Saturday's events include the 7th running of the Ruidoso Marathon and Half Marathon, and in its 3rd year, the State-Forty-Seven Road 47K/50K presented by Bluebird Running. This is a 47K run for overall and age group awards. For those wanting to complete a true ultra 50K distance, we have an additional loop that needs to be completed by 2 pm.
This is New Mexico's only premier road 50K!!
Saturday will feature a festival-like atmosphere, complete with awards, post-race food provided by Pizza Hut, live music, a beer garden, food trucks, and a bear carving demonstration.

The race will start at 6 am, 1 hour before the marathon begins, with a 2 pm cutoff time. (Headlamps are strongly recommended.) This event fills up quickly!

Join us on August 22, 2026, for the 12th annual Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs at Wingfield Park in downtown Ruidoso, NM. This year’s event features a Half Marathon Heavy (13.8 miles) starting at 7:00 AM, an 8.5 Miler at 7:15 AM, and a 4 Miler also at 7:30 AM. Celebrate a decade of trail running with custom commemorative swag, delicious cake, and a lively post-race party.
Since 2014, the Grindstone Trail Runs have been supported by the Village of Ruidoso, Lincoln County, and the US Forest Service. Proceeds benefit the All-Season Adaptive Sports program, which enriches the lives of individuals with disabilities through snow sports and recreation. Over the past eleven years, more than $60,000 has been donated to this program.

Trail Running Film Fest is Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Downshift Brewing Riverside in Ruidoso, NM. Doors open at 2 PM, and the featured film begins at 3 PM. It will be held in conjunction with the Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs. A tradition of storytelling that celebrates the diversity, resilience, and spirit of trail running. The 2026 program features 10 exceptional films from around the globe — a mix of powerful short works and compelling long-form stories that together reflect a broad spectrum of human experience on the trail.

Race Description
CUT-OFF TIME: 5:00Hours. If you cannot finish before 12:30 pm on race day, we will not offer any support: NO timing; NO awards; NO EMT or Police; NO refreshments or food. A little longer than an official half-marathon, but what’s a few extra yards between friends !!! You will get a smorgasbord of heart-pounding hills and technical downhills to satisfy your trail runner's desire.
Walkers are discouraged for this distance, but 2 other distance options are available.

Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey, there is an event for everyone. Holloman Ace of Races offers four events: Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and the Kids Dash. Join us and be a part of Holloman AFB's Ace of Races marathon! All proceeds from the registration will be put towards the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation fund that benefits Holloman AFB Airmen and their families.
The course is nestled between the Sacramento Mountains and the glistening gypsum dunes of White Sands National Park, passing by points of Air Force history along the way. With only 52 to 65 feet of elevation gain, the race provides a uniquely flat course on paved roads, creating the perfect conditions for your first and/or fastest 26.2, 13.1 or 3.1 miler! With less than a mile to finish, run through our static aircraft and equipment on display, showcasing our unique mission. In a typical military cadence, the race ends with a "left, right, left" to closeout its last half mile.
