The annual Lobo Cancer Challenge community fundraiser helps the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center to deliver the best cancer care in the world right here in New Mexico. Our generous Event Sponsors make it possible for 100% of every single fundraising dollar raised by our Challengers to go directly to their choice of program in cancer patient treatment and support, advanced cancer research, community outreach, or education and training — because no one should have to face cancer alone.
The Lobo Cancer Challenge event day, held at the UNM Lobo Football Stadium in September, features a 25 Mile Bike Ride, a 50 Mile Bike Ride, a 5K Run / Walk, a Stadium Stair Challenge, and a Cub Pack Fun Run for children ages 1-10, as well as a Virtual Challenger option. Sponsor booths populate a Participant Village, and games and activities are offered on the festive field in a celebration of community support.

Proceeds
A portion of the Event proceeds will benefit RunFit, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides children with before-, during-, and after-school running programs.
HISTORY OF RUNFIT
RunFit, a before- and after-school running program, was launched in the spring of 2006 as a bold joint initiative to curb the growing childhood obesity epidemic by creating a running program for children at after-school (or before-school) programs across New Mexico.
RunFit is designed to help youth of all sizes, fitness levels, and abilities use the discipline of running to improve health, build character, and uplift the spirit. After-school programs such as RunFit play a vital role in our communities by keeping children safe, building healthy habits, and supporting working families.
RunFit is a fun, free, and intensive program that motivates and trains elementary school students to run one mile to five kilometers (3.1 miles) without stopping through active participation on an after-school (or before-school) running team. Participants learn to set and achieve challenging personal goals, are awarded incentives for attendance and improvement, and culminate in local running events.

Description
The trails are just different at night...Chase the sunset and run beneath the stars at the Twilight 10 Trail Run in the Cibola National Forest. Hosted by the race directors of the Cedro Peak Trail Run, runners in this inaugural event will start at dusk -- just as the sun dips below the horizon. As twilight fades into night, a stunning full moon will light your path through the beautiful 10 mile labyrinth of the Cedro Peak singletrack trail system. Keep your headlamp bright and your pace fast, as the woods at night belong to nocturnal creatures. It is rumored that the "Ghost of Cedro Peak" drifts through the forest when the autumn wind howls, watching runners from the shadows of the scrub oak and Ponderosa pines. Face your fears, embrace the cool October mountain air and experience the thrill of nocturnal trail running by the light of a full moon. Click the link above to our website for more details about the course, link to map, cutoffs and other information.
Rules
No refunds or transfers. Headlamps and/or other approved light devices (no cell phone lights) are mandatory at race check-in. The race director reserves the right to cancel the race due to adverse conditions beyond our control, i.e., National Forest closures, wildfire threat, etc. The race director reserves the right to modify the course due to National Forest Service guidelines that may be in effect.
Volunteers
Races simply cannot take place without the help of a team of volunteers. We are always in need of volunteers and volunteering is a great way to contribute to the running community and to see your friend/family member on the course! Bring a friend or two and spend a day out in the mountains with us! We will feed you and provide you with some great race swag for your help! You can even run one of the races and still help volunteer. We are in need of aid station volunteers, parking coordinators, awards, sweepers, event set up and breakdown. Volunteers are eligible for reduced or free entry to a future Cedro Peak/Three Peaks Racing Event. If you'd like to volunteer, please click on the volunteer tab above or email the race director using the "ask a question" tab. Thank you!

Description
Come experience the many aspects of beautiful Mt. Taylor. Though located only 90 minutes west of Albuquerque near Grants, New Mexico, the trails there are rarely visited by runners. Join us in the Navajo tradition of waking up before dawn and running east to greet the sunrise from the La Mosca Lookout. See the views of the volcanic plugs to the north, the forested trails of the continental divide trail, trails through open high mountain meadows, and the 360 degree view from the summit of Mt. The route tops out at over 10,200' and has 1,350' of ascent. The route begins with a mile of rolling Singletrack on the Lower Aspenola Trail before beginning the roughly 2.25 Mile ascent on Service Road to the Summit Aid Station. From there, you’ll begin your descent on the Aspen For Trouble Singletrack with a short bout on Service Road before finishing up with another short stint on Singletrack to the Finish! The course will be thoroughly marked with YELLOW flagging, arrows along with other directional signage at relevant junctions. There are no cut offs on route so hikers are more than welcome.I believe this to be a very fun and engaging route but will be slightly short of a 10K. Don’t worry though,
