The app looks super cool, and the on-demand potential was probably my #1 reason for signing up. I've been so sketchy in my training, I didn't want to count on feeling up to 75 minutes at night. But if I am, I can do them at 5 or 530 instead of 630. Or being able to do them the next morning if I want to, holds a level of promise.
Trainer session history:
Coach Brian has been hosting formal trainer sessions for over 25 years. I used to meet with my classes in person, but now we're remote with excellent feedback.
He piloted the remote program on March 25, 2020 with a handful of participants and it worked great.
The workouts are all custom designed and can be performed at your own level depending on where you're at in your training program. These programs are for both the beginner and experienced cyclists since you can go at your own level.
Don't worry if you don't want to be on camera...that's NOT requirement. Feel free to leave your video OFF.
BJL Coaching uses Velocity Cycling to broadcast the session. Once you register you'll be sent you the login credentials. Velocity is free and easy to use.
Required equipment:
Computer or device that can connect with Velocity
Indoor Trainer and Bicycle OR Stationary Bike
Power and Heart Rate are useful, but you can also ride by perceived exertion (RPE)

Coach Brian Lariviere has been helping cyclists to realize their potential since 2005. Since then, he has worked with athletes from ages 10 to 80, from the weekend warrior to the professional level racer. His athletes have brought home ECCC titles for both men and women in the elite division, New Jersey State Mountain Bike champions and podium finishes, UCI CX Podiums, Hudson to Highlands Regional Mountain Bike Series Championships and podium finishes, Mid-Atlantic Super Series Endurance Champions, Silver and Gold Buckle Winners from the Leadville Trail 100, NJ ‘Cross Cup Champions and podiums, NJ ‘Cross State Champions, Gran Fondo champions, and scores of other victories and top finishes in various events. Time Limit: The course time limit is 3 hours. This will be strictly enforced.
Awards: Prizes will be given to top 3 overall runners and top 3 in each 5 year age group. Special prizes will also be given out for the best costumes!
Fluid Stations: Water stations will be located approximately every 2.5 miles along the course. Sports Drink will also be available at the stations.

Packet Pickup will take place on Saturday, May 2 from 12:00 - 5:00 at Fleet Feet of Morristown. Packets will also be available at Ginty Field on Sunday morning from 7:00-8:00. Shirts are first come, first served so we recommend picking up at Fleet Feet. You CAN pick up for friends and family.

With it's a mix of smooth rolling single track, punchy hills, roots and fire roads it's sure to Challenge everyone. Whether you’re forming a corporate running team, signing up as an individual competitor, jogging for fun, or taking on the course with a brisk walk, this event truly is for everyone. It’s a race for New Jersey’s competitive runners, a team-building experience for corporate groups, and a fun run for participants of all ages and fitness levels.

About Trail Fest:
FEAR Trail Fest is a 5 mile lollipop loop trail race in Lewis Morris Park in Morristown, NJ. The course is run mostly on the Yellow Trail in Lewis Morris Park. It’s a runnable course with a mix of rocks, roots, and some good climbs totaling around 600 feet of elevation gain. The course starts with a wide section on the Patriots Path before moving to single track for the full Yellow Trail loop before traversing the short section of the Patriots Path again back to the finish. The course is meant to attract runners looking to tackle their first trail race, or an experienced veteran on the trails looking to have a fun and fast race! Hikers are welcome too, with a generous 2:30 hour time limit.
Additionally, we will host course previews (see dates below) on the actual course so no one needs to go into the race blindly. These course previews are free and will be educational and informative if you’ve never run trails before or have never been to Lewis Morris Park.
Sustainability:
Trail Fest is going cupless! Hydrapak will be providing reusable cups for runners to be used before, during, and after the race for all their electrolyte needs.
Additionally, we are ditching traditional PVC-made race bibs and going with hemp bibs. These are much more environmentally friendly versus old traditional bibs.
Logistics:
Who: Everyone’s invited (but limited to 120 runners)! New trail runners, experienced trail runners and hikers. We’ll even adopt road runners for the day!
What: A 5 mile trail race (route below)!
Where: Lewis Morris Park Sunrise Lake Dr., Morristown, NJ 07690. Once you get to this road, keep driving until you see the lot.
When: Sunday, November 23, 2025 starting at 9AM
Why: Why not! What else could you possibly be doing on a Sunday morning?
