Northfield Rotary Bike Tour

We’re excited to be back at the Dundas Dukes Ball Park for the third year in a row! The ballpark is just a 3.5 mile bike ride to the heart of Northfield enabling all riders to enjoy the charming town and all the fun and excitement that DJJD has to offer after your ride. You’ll find restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, shopping, a distillery and 3 bike shops, all within proximity of the starting and ending point at Dundas Dukes Ball Park.
Parking will be in a parking lot and on the residential streets around the park. Please be a good neighbor and park your vehicle in a responsible manner. No overnight parking at the park.
Your registration fee includes:
A token for a selection of concession items after your ride and the option to buy additional items (concessions open at 10:30 am).
One token for a Chapel Brew beer, available on site after your ride (starting at 10:30 am)
SAG (Support and Gear) drivers along all of the routes to assist cyclists in need
Rest stops along your chosen route with portable toilets, water and snacks.
Access to a comfortable start and end point at the Dundas Dukes Ball Park, including flushable toilets.
Proceeds that will support Rotary projects & missions locally and internationally
New this year for purchase: pre-order a breakfast from Raven's Nest Cafe! Pick up your breakfast at the ballpark before your bike tour. Place your breakfast order when you register. Also receive a 20% discount to be used later in the day at Raven's Nest which is located at the back of Farmstead Bike Shop. Farmstead will also store your bike for you at their downtown Northfield location while your enjoy the DJJD activities after your bike tour.

Single Riders: $45 ($55 after 8/23)
Family Rate: $95 (max of 2 Adults, max of 5 riders) ($105 after 8/23)
Youth, Single Rider: $35 (ages 6-18) ($45 after 8/23)
Family Fun Ride*: $50 (6 miles, starting time between 10:30-11:00 am, max 2 adults)
Adaptive Rider*: $10 (6 miles, starting time between 10:30-11:00 am, individual riders only)
*Family Fun Ride and Adaptive Ride: All riders in this category must participate only in the 6-mile Family Fun Ride or Adaptive Ride. Register for the longer bike treks separately. This kid friendly adventure includes a bike rodeo, free custard stop at Culvers, a free lunch and beverage voucher along with snack break stations along the route. Participants will receive a Rotary Passport that will get stickers at each stop - completed passports can be redeemed for prizes at the end of the tour at the ball park.

The Northfield Rotary Club has organized and operated the Bike Tour as a fundraiser since 1995, 100% volunteer run. Net proceeds raised at this event support Rotary’s local and international service projects and furthers the mission of Rotary by funding projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water and sanitation, and strengthen and sustain local economies.
Current Northfield Rotary projects include Youth Exchange, the Mill Town Bike Trail, Water projects in Tanzania and Guatemala and providing local organizations support such as CAC, Ruth's House, Hillcrest Village, The Key and many more. You should have your bib number attached on the front of your shirt just above the waist to get the best read-rate. Bibs located anywhere else will have a lower read-rate. Bib numbers need to be visible when you cross the finish line.
Water stops (2) available on the course.
Utility vehicles will be patrolling the course. Extra water will be available on the carts.
Upon finishing the race, prepackaged refreshments will be available for each runner.
Times will be available online at www.pickleevents.com . The award winners will be posted online as well.

How the Run Works: After the completion of the 1-mile loop you will enter the “Beer Zone” and will be given a glass of beer or wine for the tickets in your packet can be used after you have completed all three loops. Distance and pace do not matter it’s all about having FUN! (You can walk to the kegs if you want) When you finish stick around for a prize drawing and enjoy something to eat. If you’re new to trail running or you’ve been around and looking for a small, old-school style, event Fire Tower is for you.Come experience beautiful St. Croix State Park and the scenic Kettle River valley. The Fire Tower Trail Races will take you on an adventure through forests, along rivers, and through beautiful prairie as you complete one of four distances: 100K, 50K, 35K, 11K.When you choose to conquer the 50K or longer, you will test your stamina as you climb to the top of the historic fire tower mid-run (twice in the 100K) (Oh, and we’ll have a “vertigo option” for folks that can’t climb the tower all the way!). Rutabaga Run
For over 40 years the Rutabaga Run has been held as part of the Saturday events during the Rutabaga Festival. Choose to walk a 2 mile course, a 5k timed event through Cumberland's downtown area or take a scenic jaunt through Cumberland and around the shores of beautiful Beaver Dam Lake on the half marathon course.
The Kiwanis Club of Baxter and Sertoma Club is proud to continue the tradition of this beautiful and exciting triathlon. The Brainerd Lakes area has long been a great vacation destination and have one of the premier Sprint Triathlons. The Lakes Country Triathlon continues to build into one of the best triathlons in the state. We hope you will enjoy the great bike course that is over the river and through the woods. It is a beautiful ride with very little traffic.
COURSE
The race begins with a 1/4-mile swim in quiet Whipple Lake (known for its calm waters), then switches to a 13.6-mile bike through the rolling hills surrounding the Baxter/Brainerd Lakes area and ends with a very flat 3.2 mile run through a quiet residential area. The Lakes Country Triathlon is a great race for beginners or seasoned veterans.
All cyclists must observe Minnesota traffic laws. Bike certified hard-shelled helmets are required. Drafting is prohibited and will be monitored closely. No listening devices are allowed on the bike course and are strongly discouraged on the run course for safety reasons.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration will close on Thursday, August 27th at 11:59 pm. Race day registrations will be allowed. Orders received after Friday August 14th at 11:59 pm will not receive a T-shirt. Please register early.
Proceeds raised from this event will be put back into the community to benefit the youth in the Brainerd Lakes Area and other charities.
SAFE EVENT STANDARDS:
As we get closer to the event, we will be monitoring recommendations from the CDC and MDH to develop a plan to ensure a safe event. We will work closely with our city and county officials on implementing that plan. More details will be posted on our website as we get closer to the event.

The Sadistic Century is a fun and challenging road bicycle ride on hilly, smooth, quiet roads in Western Wisconsin. Routes include 100 miles, 100 km, 60 km, and 50 km lengths with three distinct rest stops mainly in Dunn County, Wisconsin (a short drive from Madison or the Twin Cities area). The finish will right next to be an actual bank built in 1918 which has been converted into home and, for the purposes of this day, the HQ and finish of the race.Approximately 43 miles of this point-to-point race (click for the route on Strava) will be run on the incredible Willard Munger Trail, a soft as butter paved trail. The course is nearly flat (we really mean it) for the first 40 miles. There is a fantastically gradual downhill finish featuring a 500 foot drop over the last 10 miles.This elevation change is just enough to make you feel like you are having the best day of your life without crushing your quads at the end. Finally, you finish in the shadow of the Bank House where warm showers, music, a warming tent, and food and drink will be enjoyed by all. Here is a video of part

AID STATIONS There will be Eleven (11) aid stations along the course providing runners with the following:Water, Energy Drink, Cookies, Gels, Salted Nut Rolls, various soda pops, and more Four of the Aid Stations will be at the Relay Exchanges listed below in the Relay Section. The other seven are located as follows:The Third Aid Station (mile 16.3) will be at Barnum HERE. The Fifth Aid Station (mile 26.9) will be across from the Elmwood Inn on the Munger Trail HERE. The Sixth Aid Station (mile 30.9) will be at the Douglas Road crossing to the Munger Trail, west of Carlton HERE. The Eighth Aid Station (mile 39.15) will be at the Peterson's Aid Station trailhead on the Munger Trail HERE. The Ninth Aid Station (mile 42.6) will be at the Buffalo House trailhead on the

We strongly encourage to utilize the buses provided (free of charge) in order to alleviate any congestion near the start of the raceBuses will remain on-site at the start line until 7:45 a.m. to provide shelter if the weather is less than ideal. In addition to the buses, we will also have outdoor heaters and tents available at the starting line to keep runners warm and sheltered. We will transport your warm-up clothes back to the finish line after the race begins.
