Timberman Triathlon: Minnesota’s Premier Destination Triathlon
Race Venue: Sugar Lake Lodge, Cohasset, MN
The swim is in the crystal clear,
clean, turquoise waters of Sugar Lake. The bike is of rustic beauty using rural, county roads, most of which are newly paved. The relatively flat run course takes you through the resort and out and back on pavement with some gravel (Olympic course) to the finish line.
Race Distances
Olympic: 1 mile swim (1760 yards), 25 mile bike, 6 mile run
Sprint: 1/3 mile (587 yards) swim, 11 mile bike, 3 mile run
Super Sprint: .15 mile swim (264 yards), 5.5 mile bike 1.5 mile run
Teams (2 or 3 person) can participate in the Olympic and Sprint races. The Super Sprint race is for individuals only.
Timing
Timing is conducted by Pickle Events. The event is chip timed and full split results will be posted on the Pickle Events website, www.pickleevents.com
Awards
Olympic and Sprint Race Individuals: Awards are given to 1st-3rd places in all age groups. The awards change each year but are usable triathlon/sports related items.
Age groups (per USAT): 0-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+
Race age corresponds to your age on December 31, 2026.
Olympic and Sprint Race Teams: Each person (2 or 3 people) on the first place team in the men’s, women’s, and coed divisions will receive first place awards. The award changes each year but is a usable triathlon/sports related item.
Super Sprint: The top-5 overall male and female will be awarded a medal in the Super Sprint race. No teams in the Super Sprint race-only individuals.
USAT
The Timberman Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT) and requires each participant to purchase his or her own one-day license or hold an annual membership in order to participate in the race. During registration, you will be directed to the USAT modal to enter your annual membership number or purchase a one-day or annual membership. For more information, please visit the USA Triathlon site, www.usatriathlon.org. All USA Triathlon/Duathlon competitive rules will be enforced during the race.

The Timberman is a 100% volunteer run organization. The volunteer base consists of the race directors, the race committee (30+ dedicated people), and the over 125 local citizens who help the race run smoothly. The Wednesday Night at the Races series is FREE and open to any child ages 14 & under. Whether it’s your child’s first-ever race or they’ve just fallen in love with running, we’d love to see them at our next event!

The Shell Lake Lions Club is hosting two events at 8 AM on Saturday, July 25th, 2026 at the Shell Lake beach. Timing services are provided by Duluth Timing and Events. There are 2 events. The
triathlon, a traditional swim/bike/run. Participants may also choose the duathlon, a run/bike/run event. Both events will run concurrently. Individual or teams may enter either event.
Medals will be given to all participants. The triathlon course is a 1/3 mile swim, a 15 mile bike and 3.4 mile run. The duathlon is a 2 mile run instead of the swim, a 15 mile bike and 3.4 mile run.
The Shell lake area has a great lake to swim in, great roads to bike and great roads & trails to run.

The Jackpine Savage Mountain Bike Race is on City Park trails in Spooner, WI. The race start will happen near the trailhead entrance behind Spooner High School with parking available in the west
parking lot at the high school. The race will consist of singletrack mountain bike trail, cross country ski trail, and utilize a short amount of pavement as well. All levels of mountain bike racers are welcome. However, off-road riding experience is necessary to safely compete in this race. Most of the singletrack is at a beginner level but there are some intermediate sections as well. A mass start will be utilized with 3 lap racers going first, followed by 2 lap racers and then 1 lap racers. The kid's short track race will start at 11:30 with awards to follow.
Race maps are available on the event page and Trailforks.com. Course is open for public use and can be ridden at any point before the race. A full course set up will take place the day before the race allowing for good pre-ride opportunities Friday afternoon.
If you would like to register offline, registration and payment can be sent to Spooner Mountain Bike, W7891 Keller Rd, Spooner, WI 54801. Checks can be made payable to Spooner Mountain Bike. Include Name of rider, age, and which level of race in registration. (limited day of registration available onsite. See registration attendants and ask for the race director )

Relay Team Member
Each relay member must sign up individually to sign the waiver and to make sure that the waiver is signed. Each relay member must have a current USAT license (one-day or annual) on the day of the race.
Online Registration ends at 7pm pm on Saturday night before the race. There will be in person registration at packet pick up (Check Athlete Letter for time and location https://www.brewhousetriathlon.com) . Cash, Check or Charge. There is no day-of registration for the Brewhouse Triathlon.
Shirt sizes are guaranteed up until 3 weeks from the event. If your size is not available during registration you may be able to exchange the one you choose at the race site after the race.
There are no refunds, but we will defer your registration if you let us know at least 4 weeks before the event.

The Root Beer Kids race is the partner race for the Brewhouse Triathlon. It is for kids 6-14 and takes place on Sunday afternoon.
6-8 year olds: 50 yard Swim, 1.5 mile Bike, 1/4 mile Run (approx:
2:50 start)
9-11 year olds: 100 yard Swim, 2.5 mile Bike, 1/2 mile Run (approx: 2:10 start)
12-14 year olds: 200 yard Swim, 5 mile Bike, 1 mile Run (1:30 start)
There will be in-person registration at The Barrel Room in the Fitger's complex across from the Brewhouse from 4-7pm on Saturday night. Cash, Check or Charge. There WILL be on-site registration for the Root Beer Kids Triathlon starting at 12:30pm on Sunday.
Cost is $25 (plus appropriate insurance fee) before July 21st. $35 from then until the race.
There is a separate $10 insurance fee payable to USAT as part of the registration process. This fee covers all USAT kids events throughout the year. If you are signing up for multiple events it may be easier to purchase the annual youth license at www.USATriathlon.org
There are no refunds but we will defer registration until next year if you notify us 4 weeks or more from the race date.
