The Kiwanis Club of Baxter and Sertoma Club is proud to continue the tradition of this beautiful and exciting triathlon. The Brainerd Lakes area has long been a great vacation destination and have one of the premier Sprint Triathlons. The Lakes Country Triathlon continues to build into one of the best triathlons in the state. We hope you will enjoy the great bike course that is over the river and through the woods. It is a beautiful ride with very little traffic.
COURSE
The race begins with a 1/4-mile swim in quiet Whipple Lake (known for its calm waters), then switches to a 13.6-mile bike through the rolling hills surrounding the Baxter/Brainerd Lakes area and ends with a very flat 3.2 mile run through a quiet residential area. The Lakes Country Triathlon is a great race for beginners or seasoned veterans.
All cyclists must observe Minnesota traffic laws. Bike certified hard-shelled helmets are required. Drafting is prohibited and will be monitored closely. No listening devices are allowed on the bike course and are strongly discouraged on the run course for safety reasons.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration will close on Thursday, August 27th at 11:59 pm. Race day registrations will be allowed. Orders received after Friday August 14th at 11:59 pm will not receive a T-shirt. Please register early.
Proceeds raised from this event will be put back into the community to benefit the youth in the Brainerd Lakes Area and other charities.
SAFE EVENT STANDARDS:
As we get closer to the event, we will be monitoring recommendations from the CDC and MDH to develop a plan to ensure a safe event. We will work closely with our city and county officials on implementing that plan. More details will be posted on our website as we get closer to the event.
Additional Donations to help the children in the Brainerd Lakes Area, Minnesota, and beyond are greatly appreciated. Click the Donate button at the upper left of the screen. Thank you very much!

This year there's two great ways to enjoy the annual Snowflake Shuffle 5K!
About the race: Fast and fun certified course that meanders through St. Joseph, starting and finishing on the campus of the College of Saint Benedict. Or, if you'd rather, a virtual 5K that you can run wherever you are!
All the fun stuff: Snowflake Shuffle provides one of the coolest long-sleeved race t-shirts in central Minnesota to each finisher. (Technical T-shirts!) If you're running in person, you can pick up your shirt the day of the race. If you're competing virtually, be sure to email Robin your time and a selfie after you finish! (See the link on the registration page.) Plus, once you register, you're eligible for some pretty cool prizes, which will be drawn the day of the race!
Throw on your best Christmas gear, have someone make some hot chocolate for the finish, and start running!
