    Join us for Grace Christian Academy's third annual all-school fundraiser, Glow Run 2025! Last year was a huge success with your participation, raising over $10,000 and we are even more excited about this year's event!

    We are raising funds this year for various needs within the school community. Your participation goes directly towards enhancing the overall educational experience at GCA. Every donation, no matter the size, plays a vital role in the betterment of our school. Together, let's make a difference and empower the next generation of leaders at Grace Christian Academy.

    DOORS OPEN

    This family-friendly, GCA community event begins at 5 p.m. We will have food trucks, bounce houses, DJ music, and backyard games.

    Packet Pick-up will also start at 5:00 pm for both events at the race site.

    FUN RUN - ONE MILE

    The Fun Run is for any student (age 3 through second grade) and his/her parent (if you choose). The Fun Run begins at 6:00 p.m. Each registered participant will receive an event T-shirt on the day of this event.

    NEON RUN - 5K (3.1 MILES)

    The Neon Run is for all runners, including students (third through eighth grade) and family members. The race begins at 7:00 p.m. Participants are welcome to run or walk this course. On the day of the event, each registered participant will receive an event T-shirt, bib, and shoe chip for timing.

    GII's Backyard Boogie is happening Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Regency Furniture Stadium (AKA Blue Crab Stadium) in Waldorf, MD.

    Registration

    • Adult entry fee is $45 (Early Bird) or $55 (normal pre-registration).

    • Junior entry fee is $25. Juniors may also enter non-age-graded adult races for the same discounted price. The discount will be applied at checkout.

    • The Kids Race is free!

    • Additional entries are discounted $20 when purchased in the same BikeReg shopping cart. For additional entries purchased separately, pay the full fee and use the ‘Contact Event’ link to request a partial refund. On race day, a coupon code will be made available; ask at day-of registration.

    • Pre-registration will close at 8:30 AM on Friday, 8/7 for bib assignment and eligibility review. This page will re-open at 8:30 PM on Friday, 8/7 for late and day-of registration. Riders registering after the close of pre-registration will be assessed a late fee of $10 for adults. There will be no in-person payment at the event -– all registration and payment will be conducted through BikeReg.

    • Masters Championship Men/Women races are open to licensed Cat. 1/2/3/4 riders only – no Novice/Cat. 5!

    • Check-in will open by 7 AM on race day.

    • There is an online registration fee of 6.25% plus a $2.00 Mid-Atlantic Bicycle Racing Association (MABRA) fee.

    • Registrations must be completed 15 minutes prior to your race - no exceptions.

    • Waitlisted registrants will be added in order of registration as openings become available. If you are still on the waitlist on event day, you will not be added on-site at the event unless we have received explicit notification of a registered rider who will not appear.

    Licenses

    • An active domestic USA Cycling (USAC) racing license is required for all categories other than the Kids Race. Unlicensed riders may enter only those categories that are open to Novice/Cat. 5 riders; you will be charged an extra $15 for a Beginner 1-Day license in your BikeReg shopping cart.

    • Racing Age is your age as of December 31, 2026.

    MABRA Road Series

    GII's Backyard Boogie is event #6 in the MABRA Road Series. Points are cumulatively tallied after each Road Series event for riders in eligible race categories. Further information about the MABRA Road Series can be found at:

    MABRA Masters Criterium Championships

    GII's Backyard Boogie is the MABRA Masters Criterium Championships. Championship medals will be awarded at the event. To be eligible, you must reside in the MABRA region or race for a MABRA club.

    Race Notes

    • The racecourse is 1km long.

    • GII's Backyard Boogie is a criterium.

    • This event is held under USA Cycling permit #15946. USA Cycling Criterium rules apply,

    • Races with the same start times may receive separate start whistles at discretion of race promoter and officials.

    • Races with under 12 registrants may be canceled at the discretion of the race promoter.

    • Lapped riders will finish on the same lap as the leaders. Racers in danger of being lapped must yield to oncoming racers. Lapped racers may be pulled at the discretion of the officials.

    • Aero bars or clip-ons are not permitted.

    • Race events may be altered due to weather or other uncontrollable circumstances.

    • All start times are estimates.

    • Podium ceremonies will be held approximately 20 minutes after each race.

    Parking

    • Parking will be available in designated areas at the stadium. Follow the signage.

    Other Notes

    • No snakes, exotic pets, or reptiles on the premise please. Dogs must be on a leash.

    • No alcohol on the premises.

    • Anyone on a bicycle must be wearing a helmet.

    • Tents are welcomed, but you MUST have weights for the legs.

    • This race will take place rain or shine so be prepared.

    A certified 10K and 5K course featuring a flat, scenic route through the developments and communities of St. Charles, Starting and finishing at the Maryland Blue Crabs' Regency Furniture Stadium. Participants and the public will enjoy a post race party focused around the “Taste of Southern Maryland” food festival. include interactive games, music, vendors, food and drink from around St. Charles. The Festival Village is free and open to the public.

    The Taste of Southern Maryland post-race party is open to the public whether you participate in the St. Charles Running Festival or not. Everyone attending can satisfy all of their senses in one event! The Taste will offer a whole host of local restaurants and food trucks waiting to dish out their finest! You can enjoy a cold beverage while sampling zesty barbecue, gourmet pizza, delicious pasta, decadent desserts and so much more.

    The event will also feature an extensive Kids Fun Zone with inflatable games, interactive events, and more to keep the whole family entertained throughout the morning. This is a party you won't want to miss!
