Instead of waiting for someone, I decided to do it.. Wompatuck is an amazing park with great trails and I want more people to know about it so they can enjoy it. All profits will be donated to our charity partners. Current partners: Friends of Wompatuck, Free to Run, and Footprints. About Friends of Wompatuck The Friends of Wompatuck State Park (FOW), an all volunteer, not for profit group, was incorporated in early 2006 for the purpose of educating the public about the park's uses and historical value, as well as helping the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation preserve, maintain, and enhance the assets, history, and other features within the park. For more information https://friendsofwompatuck.org About Wompatuck Wompatuck State Park is
located in Hingham, MA - just 35 minutes from downtown Boston. Rich in history, this land was originally the property of Indian chief Josiah Wompatuck who deeded the land to English Settlers in 1665. During WWII and the Korean War, it served as an ammunitions depot for the U.S. military. Today, it is a 3,526 acre park that extends from Hingham into the neighboring towns of Cohasset, Scituate, and Norwell. About Free to Run Free to Run’s mission is to drive change in community gender norms in conflict areas by supporting adolescent girls and young women to advance their leadership and wellness through running. We do this through providing deep, progressive leadership and wellbeing programs in conjunction with running experiences - typically to refugees, internally displaced people and girls’ and women who identify as ethnic minorities. While we work closely with communities and individuals, we are working towards a systematic shift in gender equality with a specific focus on the expansion of
access to public space and leadership opportunities for girls and women.https://freetorun.org/ About FootPrints Footprints is a registered 501c(3) U.S. non-profit that exists as an incubator for climate action. https://runfootprints.org/ Sponsors - Contact us to be part of 2026 Gold Sponsors Arbella Insurance: A heartfelt thank you for your generous support. About This Event
Join us for a meaningful 5K in loving memory of Scott Ashley and in support of families affected by Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). LBD is the second most common form of dementia, one of the most aggressive and least understood forms of dementia, leaving many individuals and caregivers facing an overwhelming journey with limited resources, education, and support.
This event was created to raise awareness, honor Scott’s legacy, and help ensure that no family faces Lewy Body Dementia alone. Scott was a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, local cranberry grower, and lifelong runner whose generous spirit touched everyone who knew him. Hosting this 5K at Ted Williams Camp is especially meaningful, as it celebrates his love of running, the outdoors, and the community that was part of his story.
Your support makes a difference. Whether you register to run or walk, donate, become a sponsor, volunteer, or simply help share our mission, you are helping fund education, caregiver support, awareness, and research for those impacted by LBD. Every step and every contribution brings hope to families who need it most.

About this Event
As you may know, in the summer of 2004, tragedy struck the community of Holbrook when a thirteen year old, Sean Joyce, passed away from Eastern Equine Encephalitis. In the days, months, and years that followed, the community of Holbrook rallied to support Sean’s family, his classmates and each other.
More than twenty years later we can look back and see how we have honored Sean’s life and kept his memory alive by building the Sean Joyce Baseball/Soccer Field next to the Sumner Field with a walking track around both and the presentation of over one-hundred thousand dollars in scholarships to the students of Holbrook. Over the past few years, we have also been able to expand our engagement with the community through our involvement with youth sports, Holbrook Middle-High School and Holbrook Santa.
Those who knew Sean could not be prouder of how his memory has stayed alive within the community, and that would not be possible without the contributions of each and every person who helped along the way.
In order to be able to continue to offer scholarships and keep Sean’s memory alive, we are hosting our annual 5K Road Race and 1-Mile Walk this fall in conjunction with Holbrook's Homecoming festivities.

Please join us at our 6th Annual 'Don’t Lose Hope: 5k Run/Walk for Suicide Awareness'!
In 2025, early national data show that the United States continues to lose nearly 50,000 people to suicide each year. Behind every number is a person, a family, and a community forever changed- a reminder of how deeply important connection, support, and accessible mental health care truly are.
Every year, 1 in 5 U.S. adults experiences a mental health condition. Most of us have either lost someone to suicide or know someone who has been touched by it. Now more than ever, we need honest conversations, genuine check‑ins, and a commitment to kindness. Suicide is not a sign of weakness — it’s a sign that someone is carrying more pain than they can manage alone. Let’s be the reason someone feels seen, heard, and supported. Join us in breaking the stigma around mental health by showing your support on Sunday, September 27th.
Run with a p u r p o s e.
Run for a loved one who you've lost to suicide, run for a friend you know is struggling, or run for your own personal mental health battle.
Whatever your reason, you're making a d i f f e r e n c e.
