Jog Your Memory 5K, Inc. was founded in 2014 by Jess Rice and her husband Bob. Since then, the Jog Your Memory Board has grown to eight, dedicated members, who are all-in to help fight Alzheimer's. The non-profit hosts a 5K race and walk every year out of Needham in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's research and caregiver reprieve. To date, they have raised over $2.35 million; for the past twelve years, 80% has gone to research, and 20% has been set aside for a Caregiver Grant - a reserve used for those caring for loved ones who might need a little extra incentive to get the help they need.
The 2026 5K run and 1.5-Mile walk for Alzheimer's will offer flexible options. Our 13th Annual race will be held in-person in Needham on Sunday, October 18th and a virtual option will be available for those who are unable to make our in-person event.

This Year's Project:
A Rwimi secondary school with about 2,000 girls and boys have depended on a very dangerous stream to provide their water needs. The stream has claimed the lives of several students and locals as they stooped to fetch the dirty water. We can help by drilling a new well and constructing a water delivery system. With your assistance we can change the lives of so many.
The areas where we drill our wells are very rural. Kids typically walk miles each day to and from the watering hole to fetch water for drinking, bathing and cooking. Unfortunately, the villagers share the water source with various animals so they have to boil it before using it. With your help, we can make this possible!
As always your contributions are fully tax deductible. We are approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization.
Events:

The Ivoryton Pumpkin Chase is a 5K Road/Trail Race and a Kiddie Pumpkin Fun Run (age 7 and below) to benefit the Ivoryton Library and takes place in peak foliage season of southern New England. The course begins along North Main Street for approximately ½ mile before turning left down Falls River Drive. At the one mile mark, the course enters the Falls River Preserve for a 1.1 mile trail loop that meanders along the Falls River. The trail is double track for about ½ mile before it turns into hilly and rocky single track. Care must be taken on the trail due to the presence some jagged rocks and roots. Please be aware that the trail can be slippery in wet conditions.
Participants will receive a free t-shirt with registration before September 18. Registrations after September 18 and day of registrations will receive a t-shirt while supplies last.
Contact Ivoryton Library at [email protected] if you or your organization would like to be a sponsor and have your logo included on our t-shirts.
The Miles for Mary 5K Run and Walk began in 2013 to honor the memory of Mary Park and a growing number of other beloved members of our community. It also serves as a fundraiser for brain cancer research while raising awareness in a scenic and fun setting.
This year, we are observing the 14th series of Miles for Mary, which has raised over $850,000.
Community education leads to greater awareness of brain cancer and the importance of raising funds for more effective treatments.
