Join us for the Sixth annual Grist Mill Grind 5K/10K Adventure, an event that runners will testify is one of the most challenging 5K/10K courses in the area. You can Run, Walk, or Ruck this event to set your own level of enjoyment as you traverse through ravines, bluffs, creek crossings (5 for the 10K, 2 for the 5K), and a little bit of gravel road to open the throttle. Franklin Creek State Natural Area our host is a beautiful little gem of a park in North Central Illinois dotted with limestone bluffs, springs, and forested canopy. Runners follow trails up and down multiple hills with an elevation gain of ~100ft./Mile You will get your feet wet as you cross the Franklin Creek (5 times for the 10K, 2 times for the 5K) on your way to the finish. A unique race experience we're sure you'll be proud to complete. Drinking water will be available at the Start/Finish and Sunday shelter (Mid race point for the 10K). Please bring your own disposable cup or bladder, no cups will be provided to minimize environmental impact. All proceeds go to the Franklin Creek Conservation Association (FCCA) to help fund park programs, park expansion, and park improvements. Custom Awards will be presented to the Top 3 Male and Female runners, (5K/10K) and Ruckers (5K/10K). T-Shirts are available for purchase to all participants wishing to commemorate the event and are guaranteed if signed up before 8/15/2026. Check In on Race day will be at the race site (Hausen Knox Shelter) 7am-7:45am.

Welcome to the Slinger Kiwanis Heads UP 5K Run/Walk, where speed, scenery, and community spirit collide in an unforgettable experience!
Get ready to lace up your shoes and set your sights on the ultimate journey through the heart of Slinger, Wisconsin. This thrilling race will take you on a tour of some of the area's most iconic landmarks, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and adrenaline-pumping excitement.
The adventure begins at the historic Little Switzerland Ski Resort. From there you’ll see behind the scenes at the Slinger Speedway, home to the world's fastest quarter mile, as you run through the pit area! As you make your way through the course, you'll also have the opportunity to experience a portion of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Throughout the race, you'll encounter a mix of paved roads and trails, with a short connector section of gravel. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a casual walker, there's something for everyone to enjoy as you make your way through the course.
But perhaps the most rewarding part of the Slinger Kiwanis Heads UP 5K Run/Walk is the sense of community that permeates every step of the journey. From fellow participants cheering you on to volunteers offering support along the way, you'll feel the spirit of camaraderie lifting you up as you push yourself to new heights.

Packet Pickup, Start, and Finish will be Friday afternoon the the Slinger High School Hootie Fest or Race Day morning at Little Switzerland.
This is a 5K Run/Walk that starts on the track at Amboy High School. It serpentines past the Elementary School, the old Jr. High School through the Sports Park and concludes in front of the historic train depot. This is a USATF Certified Course. The course itself is relatively flat and allows for fast race times. This is one of three events sponsored by the Amboy Education Foundation. Our singular goal is to provide resources to the Amboy School District to aid teachers and students.

Welcome to Running Wild 5K Run/3K Wacky Scavenger Hunt Walk!
About this Event: The Running Wild 5K Run is professionally chip-timed with disposable chips on park wooded and open field trails, park roads, grass, and gravel. The 5K event includes awards for the top 3 finishers in each age category. The 3K Wacky Scavenger Hunt Walk is on similar, relatively flat surfaces. Dogs allowed, on 6-foot leash, for the WALK ONLY. Individuals or families with leashed dogs will begin at the back of the walk start. Egg bake breakfast with fresh fruit and homemade cookies for registered participants. Terrific door prizes donated by local vendors and the St. Joseph County Parks Foundation and Friends of Bendix Woods and Spicer Lake! (Must be present to win.) This year's hand-crafted participant medallion features a Bald Eagle (one per registered participant, while supply lasts).
Proceeds benefit park facilities, programs, and bus transportation to the parks for school programs. The event is organized by the St. Joseph County Parks Foundation, Friends of Bendix Woods and Spicer Lake, and St. Joseph County Parks.

Pre-Registration: Online registration ends Thursday, August 13, 11:59pm EDT. // Mail-in registrations must be post-marked no later than August 9 if no t-shirt is being ordered. If a t-shirt is being ordered mail-in registrations must be post-marked no later than July 30. Walk-in registrations that are ordering t-shirts must also be dropped off by July 30. // Registration must be completed by August 4, 2026 for t-shirts to be guaranteed. If you register after August 4, you will not be able to order a t-shirt.
Late Registration: Late registration fees begin at 12:00am EDT on Friday, August 14. Late, registration will be available online and late, walk-in registration will also be available on the morning of the race.
Race T-Shirts: To guarantee a shirt, you must order one when you register online. T-shirts must be ordered by August 4, 2026. T-shirts will be Dry-Fit material. The top three male and female runners in each age category, the top Overall male and female and the top Overall male and female Masters category (50 years +) will receive a custom "2026 Running Wild" medal and Bendix Woods County Park pure maple syrup.
All 3K Walk participants will receive an official Certificate of Completion and a handcrafted, collectible Running Wild participation medal. Children will also be able to pick a fun nature prize.
Participants may also pick-up their FREE, collectible 2026 Running Wild participation medallion during bib pick-up times Friday, August 14 - Noon to 6:00pm OR the day of the run from 7:30-8:15am and after the run.
