About the Race
This trail run will feature all the best of the Dubuque County landscape including creek crossings, steep inclines, and rugged terrain. The run will offer three distance options: 5.2 miles, 25k, and 50k all set against the beautiful backdrop of Swiss Valley Nature Preserve. Race times are as follows:50K: 7:00am race start25K: 8:00am race start5.2 mile: 9:00am race startAll proceeds from the run will benefit the Friends of Dubuque County Conservation who help support Dubuque County parks and environmental education!Free Camping and Showers available at Swiss Valley Park and Campground.There will be free tent camping for runners at the Swiss Valley Campground located down the street from the race start and directly next to the racer pick up location. Runners will be able to use the showers in the campground for free after the race to clean up.TransportationThere will be free shuttles to and from the start/finish line area. Shuttles will start to take runners and spectators up to the start/finish at 6:45amNo Coast Trail SeriesSwiss Valley Trail Run will be a part of the No Coast Trail Series this year. Runners will compete with other No Coast racers in this beautiful and challenging course. Course Description
Welcome to the beautiful Mines of Spain, home of the 9th Annual Miner 49er endurance runs. On the course you will run on lots of single track, some double, and even some prairie trail. You will have views of the historic Julien Dubuque Monument, the very popular Horseshoe Bluff, and the beautiful Mississippi River. The racecourse is a 25k out and back with approximately 2200 feet of elevation gain. The 50k runners will have the privilege of doing this twice with approximately 4400 feet of gain. You will be challenged by stone steps, stream crossings, and the usual rocks and roots that can trip you up without notice. The course will have three aid stations that will be stocked with all the usual "ultra event" nutrition. Since, this is being held in a public park there may be non-race traffic out on the trails and in the area. Be respectful and give them a friendly wave as you pass by. Refund policyI understand that race registration fees are not refundable under any circumstance, race registrations are not transferable to other participants or to a future year's event. Please consider these factors carefully before completing your registration.

Changing race distance after you register:50k to 25k you need to confirm with race director BEFORE START OF RACE . There are no refunds for switching. If a last minute decision is made to switch 25k to 50k you will need to verify with the race director and pay the difference of final registration price.Pacers: There are no pacers allowed for either event.

Packet pick up will be held at the EB Lyons Interpretive Center at 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd on Friday November 6th from 6 pm to 7:30pm. There will also be packet pick up Saturday morning from 7 am to 7:45 am. No same day registration available.

This is a fast, flat half marathon along the scenic Galena River Trail. An 8K race option is also offered.

**Due to Galena Halloween festivities on that day, the course will close at 11:00 AM. Because of this no walkers are allowed for the half marathon and runners must finish before the course closes.
🔷 Packet Pickup will be Friday, Oct 30th from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm and Saturday morning 7:00 am -7:45 am below the Highway 20 bridge in the Train Depot parking area where the race is also held. Friends are allowed to pick up for another participant.

🔷 Hydration/fuel stations with water, electrolyte beverage and GU will be at miles 2, 3.5, 9, 11, 12.

🔹Course Route: this is an out and back course, utilizing first the south end of the trail and turning around at the 5.50 mile marker and return to the start, which would be the equivalent of 11 miles, runners will then proceed around the start and head north on the trail for a short out and back for the remaining mileage, back to finish line for your 13.10 miles!🎉
For the 8k distance, the course is also an out and back, and will begin the same as the half, with the turnaround marked at 2.50 miles and race back to the finish line!🎉

The race will start near the playground park area north of the beach parking lot. All distances will run clockwise this year and will exit the trail at the same location you enter to return to the start / finish line for each loop (i.e. you will return to the start to begin each subsequent loop).The course consists primarily of dirt and grass trails with small water crossings possible. The Hero Hustle was created in 2016 as a way to raise money to help support the men and women of the Delaware County fire, ambulance, and law enforcement departments. To date, through the participation of our athletes and the generous contributions of our sponsors, the Hero Hustle has been able to give over $77,000 to the people that are always there to save, serve and protect us.
The Hero Hustle welcomes all athletes of all abilities. The goal is to get active, have a good time, and raise money for a good cause! The race is a sprint distance triathlon comprised of a 400yd swim, a 16 mile bike ride, and a 5K run to wrap it up. The swim course will be held in Schram Pond. The bike course is out on a public highway and has rolling hills for most of the course. The run course will be mostly flat, with athletes only having to tackle one hill...at least you get to turn around and run back down it though! The duathlon replaces the swim with a one mile run around Schram Pond followed by the same 16 mile bike ride and 5K.
Athletes are able to do the triathlon as an individual or in a 2-3 person team. Duathlon is an individual event.
The entry fee will get each athlete their race entry, a race t-shirt, a finisher award, and a timing chip.
