WHY THIS EVENT?
Aplastic Anemia (AA) is a very rare and deadly bone marrow failure disease and receives almost no funding for research. The treatment has not changed since 1986; this is unacceptable.
Children 15 years old and younger account for 95% of all diagnosis of AA.
"This disease can take my bride Kelly at any time; I can't sit by and do nothing. I need your help to give Kelly and others with AA a fighting chance." event cofounder Robert Wilhite
Experience the rolling/flat terrain of Jackson County and the endless scenic views throughout the ride.
All net proceeds donated to THE KELLY WILHITE APLASTIC ANEMIA RESEARCH FUND at Emory University. Every penny that goes to this Fund will go DIRECTLY to clinical research.

EquiSol Race Series (A Park for All Seasons) - Summer Solstice 5k
Welcome to the new race series in 2026 benefitting the Gwinnett Parks Foundation.
This race is the 2nd of 4 races in the series with
one in each quarter falling on or close to the Equinox or Solstice. Each medal will magnetically link together to create a large medal map of Gwinnett County and its parks so do miss out to run all 4 races. (if you do happen to miss one and we have left over medals, we will open up a virtual option for you to run and receive your missing medal to create you full larger medal)
Due to having to order the medals early for all 4 events, the first 200 runners will receive medals on site. If we have additional runners we will order more and have them shipped to you (or you can pick up when ready)
Also you will receive a $20 refund if you refer 5 others.
Performance Race Services and the Gwinnett Park Foundation have teamed up to give you the opportunity to explore 4 of the many parks that Gwinnett has to offer.
The Gwinnett Parks Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to assist the needs, whether volunteer labor, or monetary, of Gwinnett Parks & Recreation. The foundation was organized in 2001 to improve the quality of life for all of its citizens by working in cooperation with Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation, private citizens, businesses, foundations, and the Gwinnett County government.

Key Retreat Facilitators:
Coach Victoria Seahorn of Marathon Majic
Victoria Seahorn is an Atlanta based race director, coach, and community builder whose journey blends elite endurance sports with heart-centered purpose. From her early days as a passionate marathon runner to serving as National Training Program Director for Jeff Galloway, Victoria has spent decades immersed in the running world. A life-changing loss inspired her to found the Georgia Marathon—now the Publix Georgia Marathon/Half Marathon—which became one of the largest inaugural marathons in the United States and a legacy of resilience, remembrance, and community.
Today, Victoria continues to create meaningful, joy-filled athletic experiences through races, youth and adult coaching, and charitable events that bring people together beyond competition. Her work reflects a deep belief in perseverance, service, and the power of shared experiences to transform lives. At Camp-Run-A-Muck, Victoria brings her hard-earned wisdom, inspirational coaching, and passion to help others push past obstacles to celebrate milestones - no matter how big or small - on the road, on the trail, and in life.
Kayla Fitzgerald of Endurance Nutrition
Kayla Fitzgerald of Endurance Nutrition is a Registered Dietitian, ultrarunner, and race director of Palmetto Ultras, based in Charleston, South Carolina. She helps runners move beyond guesswork and into confidence by creating personalized race-day fueling strategies that support strong, steady performance from the first mile to the finish line.
Kayla’s approach blends evidence-based sports nutrition with real-world experience—because she’s lived what she teaches. She understands firsthand how the right fueling plan can prevent bonks, boost confidence, and turn race day into the celebration it’s meant to be.
She works with runners of all levels, whether you’re just beginning to think about fueling or you’ve tried every strategy and nothing has quite clicked. If you want to feel energized, prepared, and confident on race day—without the overwhelm—you’re in the right place.
Camp-Run-A-Muck is your opportunity to step away from the noise, reconnect with your body, and learn how to fuel in a way that truly works for you. Alongside Kayla, you’ll run, learn, and build meaningful community in a supportive, inspiring retreat environment.

Subject: Join Us for the Annual Abraham Balawi Memorial 5K - Honoring a Legacy
We are excited to invite you to participate in the Annual Abraham Balawi Memorial 5K on June 28th, an event that holds
special significance for our community. This race, started in 2018, was created to support the Abraham Balawi Memorial Scholarship Fund. The annual scholarships are awarded to at least two deserving Pickens County seniors, chosen by the Awards Committee, to continue Abe’s legacy of excellence, dedication, and perseverance.
About the Event: This 5K race is not just about running—it's about honoring the memory of an extraordinary individual. Abraham “Abe” Balawi, a gifted athlete and student, was tragically taken from us on August 6, 2017, in a car accident. A 2015 graduate of Liberty High School, Abe won the AA State 1600m race in 2014 and went on to run at Mercer University. He was recently awarded a posthumous degree for his achievements. This race helps us keep Abe’s spirit alive through the scholarship fund and annually during the Pickens County Cross Country and Track & Field Meets. The Pickens County Track & Field Meet also hosts the Abraham Balawi Mile Run, which was renamed in his honor.
Why You Should Participate:
Support Local Students: The funds raised from the 5K go directly to the Abraham Balawi Memorial Scholarship, which has allowed us to award local student scholarships since 2017.
Honoring Abe’s Memory: This race is a tribute to Abe’s incredible impact on our community and to remember his legacy as a dedicated runner and student-athlete.
Community Impact: The event also helps fund awards, medals, and t-shirts for local runners. It also supports the Pickens County Cross Country and Track & Field Meet, supporting local XC, track and field athletes.
Past Scholarship Recipients Include:
Keyshawn King (Stanford)
Adam Balawi (Citadel)
Cal Finley (Clemson)
Ally Wilson (USC)
Eric Baldwin (Clemson)
Will Herden (USC)
Hannah Brown (Duke)
Issac Esuary (Clemson)
Ella Harned (Southern Wesleyan)
Noah King (Clemson)
Ashby Williams (Appalachian State)
Event Details:
Date: June 28th
Time: 8:00 am
Location: Liberty High School (Hosted by Liberty High School)
This is a walk/run 5K event that’s open to the public, and we encourage runners of all levels to join us. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or simply want to show your support for a great cause, we welcome you to participate.
How to Register: To sign up, please visit the link on this website.
Your participation helps ensure we continue to provide scholarships and honor Abe’s legacy. Together, we can make this year’s race a meaningful celebration of his life and contributions.
If you have any questions or need more information, don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope to see you there, running or walking in Abe’s honor.
Best regards,
Shannon Balawi
