The Sprint TRIATHLON race begins with a quarter mile swim at 8:00 a.m. off of Fred Howard Beach which is a popular swim location for tourists and beach
goers. The bike portion of the race is a 10 mile scenic route and paved and closed roads taking you across Fred Howard Causeway and into historic Tarpon Springs. Our bike course is one of our favorite ways to showcase our beautiful town and it is well staff by the Tarpon Police Department and race volunteers. The run ends inside Fred Howard Park with a 5K that takes you back to the finish line right next to transition area.
The DUATHLON is a 5K run/10 mile bike, 5K run
The Sprint AQUABIKE category is the 1/4 mile swim and the 10 mile bike, your finish time is when you cross the timing mat with your bike at transition. You can then head over to the finish line at your leisure to get your finisher's medal. This is a fantastic category for those who are unable to run due to injury or circumstance but we still would love to have you in attendance.
The Olympic TRIATHLON race begins with a half mile swim at 7:00 a.m. off of Fred Howard Beach which is a popular swim location for tourists and beach goers. The swim will consist of completing the 1/4 Mile Swim, running along the beach into a shute and back out for another 1/4 Mile swim; for a 1/2 Mile swim. The bike portion of the race is a 10 mile scenic route and paved and closed roads taking you across Fred Howard Causeway and into historic Tarpon Springs. Our bike course is one of our favorite ways to showcase our beautiful town and it is well staff by the Tarpon Police Department and race volunteers. Bike course will be done twice with a turnaround for the Olympians, making it a 20 Mile course. The run turns around inside Fred Howard Park with a 5K that you will complete TWICE for a 10K and then head to the finish line right next to transition area.

Now the fun begins and it has made this race famous...the post race party food is out of this world and unique to any race you have ever attended. Rotarians bake dozens of homemade cookies and gather food from some of the best Greek restaurants in the world as Tarpon Springs is the hub for one of the most cultural Greek communities. From wraps, to spanikopita, to baklava, we will satisfy your appetite as you cross the finish line. Wash it all down with an ice cold beer at our Michelob Ultra post race extravaganza.

USAT Event
USAT athletes must provide a valid USAT# and present their USAT card & photo ID at registration. A $60 Annual license can be purchased at www.usatmembership.com (For athletes under 17 years of age, price is $10 for an annual membership) Non-USAT licensed athletes must purchase the $13 one-day license. This is available during on-line registration.
The USAT Age rule requires that all participants race by birth year rather than their age on race day. This means your race age will be the same for all sanctioned events for an entire calendar year. The age group of a participant will be determined by age on Dec. 31 of the event year, not by age on race day. For example: If you turn 25 years old in July, you will race and be ranked in the 25-29 age group for the entire season.

EVENT T-SHIRT COLLECTION

This is a Charity Event and to date the Round The Sound swim has raised more than $500,000 for local charities. All Donations/pledges will be given to the Bermuda Zoological Society, Bermuda Registered Charity # 179, to support their educational and conservation programs. NOTES
The race committee reserves the right to cancel the entire race or stop any individual at any stage of the race.
Average sea temperature for October is 78 degrees F.
In the event of extreme adverse weather, changes/modifications can be made to the course. This decision is made by the organizers at 8am on the morning of the race.
GENERAL RULES
ANY SWIMMER WHO HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED THE RACE AND IS UNABLE TO FINISH OR WHO MUST WITHDRAW FOR ANY REASON IS OBLIGED TO IMMEDIATELY REPORT HIS/HER POSITION TO A RACE OFFICIAL.
In order to be an official entrant, each swimmer must register at the check-in area between 30 and 60 minutes before the start of his/her race.
An official swim cap for the race will be provided at each check-in. This cap must be worn as your timing chip will be inside it.
Transit swimmers must not cross or interfere with the starting line for shorter races – see Instructions.
During the race, directions issued by race officials must be followed.
Course marks must be passed on the correct side – see Instructions.
No wetsuits will be allowed.
An emergency plan card, provided, must be completed and handed in at registration.
The Race Committee reserves the right to remove a swimmer from the water who fails to reach a checkpoint by the official closing time - see CUT OFF TIMES for details.
PARKING FOR THE RACE
As all four events finish at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo but start elsewhere, competitors should have someone drop them off at their particular starting points at least 1 hour prior to the start of their race. See Check In times above.
Parking for the finish will not be available at the Aquarium, instead it will be up the hill at Whitney Institute or on Flatt's Victoria Field. Please use these areas responsibly and do not leave any litter.
THE STARTS
Check in will begin 1 hour prior to each start, see CHECK IN TIMES above. At the appropriate start, swimmers will be marked with their numbers and given their official swim cap. Please wear your official swim cap as it contains your timing chip and without it your time will not be recorded. Warm-up will be allowed, but all swimmers must have checked-in and be on land 20 minutes before start time. Swimmers will be checked into the water, in order, by number. Entry into the water shall be FEET FIRST. Diving is not permitted.
All starts will be in-water along the designated start line or rope and will strictly follow the timetable.
10K, 6K AND 4K SWIMMER CHECKPOINTS AND CUT OFF TIMES
All swimmers entered in the 10k, 6k or 4k events will be required to check in at all official check points on their respective course. As a transit swimmer, you will approach the check point dock with the pink course marker buoy on your left shoulder. At the dock, identify yourself by number and confirm that you are fit to continue. At each checkpoint there will be water and Powerade available. Once you are given the go ahead to proceed you should continue on your course. At times there will be yellow 'sausage' shaped buoys that will indicate the direction of the course and are in place to separate you from other swimmers who may be starting a shorter race. Do not swim underneath these 'sausage' buoys.
8k Checkpoint (Angel's Grotto) - closes at 11:00am (For 10k swimmers only)
6k Checkpoint (Shark Hole) - closes at 12:00pm (For 10k swimmers only)
4.25k Checkpoint (Luffalong Dock) - closes at 12:55pm (For 10k and 6k swimmers only)
Please note that the Bayside Lane Dock is the start point for the 4k swim only. It is NOT a checkpoint for transit swimmers.
2.75k Checkpoint (Radnor Estate Road Dock) - closes at 1:55pm (For 10k, 6k and 4k swimmers)
THE FINISH
All swimmers finish at the Aquarium, with an “In-Water” finish through a floating finish arch. Your finishing time and position will be taken as you swim through the arch. If you arrive in a pack please stay in your finishing order and make your way towards the steps to exit the water.
VOLUNTEERS
This event can not take place without the continual support of volunteers. If you or a family member wish to volunteer to help at the Start and Checkpoint docks on race day or with kayak and safety support then please email [email protected] to signup for one of the volunteer positions.
SAFETY BOATS AND KAYAKS
These safety boats are officials of the race and will correct a swimmer who is off course or who misses a mark. Please comply with their directions courteously. Failure to comply will result in your number being reported to the race committee along with the offense. Penalty or disqualification may result.
THE COURSE
The course is an ANTI-CLOCKWISE route around Harrington Sound using islands, docks and buoys as course markers. RULE FOR BUOYS: Other than the yellow sausage buoys. ALL BUOYS MUST BE KEPT ON THE SWIMMER'S LEFT SHOULDER
There are four types of buoys which will be used on the course:
PINK TRIANGULAR BUOYS (~6 feet tall pyramids) indicate a check point / water stop along the course - SWIMMERS MUST CHECK IN AT THESE PINK MARKERS,
ORANGE TRIANGULAR BUOYS (~6 feet tall pyramids) indicate an island at which swimmers will be making a turn,
ORANGE ROUND BUOYS (most are 5 feet tall, some at the end of the route are 8 feet tall) indicate a path for the swimmer, do not turn at these, they are simply for guidance,
YELLOW SAUSAGE BUOYS (15 feet long by 18 inches high) indicate a direction for swimmers to follow leading into a Dingles Island, Cockroach Island, and out of the checkpoint with 2.75k to go.
Round the Sound 2026 is sanctioned by Open Water Bermuda, and organized by Bermuda Open Water Swimming Ltd.

We are thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual 5K Run and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk hosted by Club-214 Land & Sea, an
event dedicated to supporting our nation’s veterans and their families. This exciting event will take place on Saturday, 18 October 2025. The event will take place on the Pinellas Trail in Palm Harbor, Florida with the Start/Finish at de Bine Brewing Company. All proceeds will go directly to the mission of Club-214 Land & Sea — uniting veterans, fostering camaraderie, and providing essential support.
Our mission at Club-214 Land & Sea is simple but powerful: to help veterans thrive by offering crucial resources for mental health, transition assistance, and job placement opportunities. With your support, we aim to enhance the lives of those who have served our country and help them transition back into civilian life with the resources and network they need to succeed.
Race Details:
5K Run: The main event, this 3.1-mile race will challenge participants of all fitness levels while bringing together a strong community of supporters. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a first-time participant, the Pinellas Trail course always offers a memorable and impactful experience. The Halloween themed event encourages entrants to show off their best "Creepin’ It Real Costume" attire/costume and promises to be a lot of fun! All participants will receive a beautiful custom Finisher Medal at the finish line. Participants 21 and over will receive an ice cold draft beer from De Bine Brewing Company after the run.
1-Mile Fun Run/Walk: A relaxed, family-friendly event perfect for participants of all ages and abilities. This untimed run/walk provides an opportunity for everyone to get involved and show their support for veterans, no matter their fitness level.
Awards: Immediately following the race, there will be an awards ceremony celebrating the Top three Male and Female 5K finishers and an Age Group Award for the 1st place Male and Female Finisher in each of the following age groups: 9 and Under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. In addition, "Creepin’ It Real Costume Champions" will be awarded prizes for the Best Costume in two categories - ages 19 and under & 20 and over.

and more. All ages are welcome. This event is a collaboration between the Veterans Council of Clay County, Florida and the Clay County Board of County Commissioners. Everyone is welcome to participate in the 5K race. The racecourse is not certified for competition.
Clay Vets Day 5k 26 is "Tougher than you think!" First 250 registrants receive a race t-shirt, bib, chip timing, finisher medal, quality refreshments, and camaraderie in the Clay County community. Every finisher will receive a long sleeve tech-shirt (Shirts and sizes are guaranteed if preregistered before November 1, 2026. After this date, shirts will be available while supplies last!), bib, custom finisher medal made of solid American steel, as well as a rockin' good time with friends and family members!!
This is a festive time of the year, so dress the part! We love seeing all the pilgrims, turkeys, turkey hats, you name it! You just add to the festivity of the morning!
The BayCare Wobble Turkey Trot at Tampa Premium Outlets and will again support one of our original beneficiaries, the New Tampa Family YMCA, Open Doors Financial Assistance Program.
You can participate as an individual or on a team. Age group and overall awards will be awarded to the top 3 in men's and women's 5-year age groups, as well as to the first place men's and women's finishers in overall, masters and grand masters categories. A special prize will also be awarded to the team with the most registered runners and walkers, so invite everyone you know to join!

14th Annual Gobbler 5k and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run
First Christian Academy is hosting the 14th annual Gobbler 5k Run on Thursday, November 26th, 2026. Join us on Thanksgiving morning for a 1 mile fun run
and 5k event! Run, walk, or stroll with your family through beautiful Starkey Park in New Port Richey, Florida. While you’re getting a great workout, you can also feel good about helping local students. All event proceeds from the Gobbler Run go to support First Christian Academy.
The Gobbler 5K will be a chip-timed race. Participants must begin the race between 7:30-7:40 am for accurate chip start time. Participants will receive a beautiful finisher’s medal, poly dry-fit race t-shirt and backpack. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group will also receive a placement trophy! The 1 Mile Fun Run is a race for all ages. Participants get a finishers medal, poly dry-fit race t-shirt and backpack! The entire event is family and pet friendly with music, vendors and fun!
Online registration ends Monday 11/23/26 at 8 am. Runners may still register in person on Race Day or packet pick up. Racers that want guaranteed shirt sizes must sign up online by 11/01/26. Due to selling out in 2025, early registration is encouraged to secure your entry.
PACKET PICK UP will be on Wednesday 11/25/26 from 4 to 6 PM at Starkey Park in the Educational Center. Please take advantage of early pick up so on Thanksgiving morning all you have to do is show up and run!
All participants will be parking in the fields at the entrance of the park. The race is in the center of the park (same awesome spot as last year) with the start and finish located at the Educational Center/ Information Kiosk. Please plan to make the short walk from the fields in the front (main parking area last year) to the Educational Center.
Jogging strollers are welcome as are well behaved and leashed pets.
Gates to the park open at 6:45am Thanksgiving morning. PLEASE do not go to the gate sooner then 6:45am if you are a participant. Our vendors and volunteers need to get in and get set up. This is going to be the best local non-commercialized race you have ever participated in!
