Would like to cordially invite you to our annual "Pink Up The Pace" 5K Walk/Run. On Saturday, October 3, we will kick off (October’s) Breast Cancer Awareness Month with our 5K walk/run through our
historic downtown St. Augustine. Pink Up The Pace (PUTP) is a non-profit organization founded by Cindy Ortiz Chaconas in 2009, when diagnosed at age 28.
The race is now in its 18th year and continues to make an impact and grow. The 2009 inaugural race brought in over 800 participants and raised $20,000. In 2019, there were 2,900 participants and $50,000 raised. All the money raised stays in St. Johns County and goes directly towards our mission of assisting the uninsured and underinsured in the early detection of breast cancer. In the last 18 years, we have been able to pay out over $350,000 in breast imaging services to the men and women in need in our county.
Thank you for your continued support!

PROCEEDS FOR THE TURKEY TROT
Proceeds from the UF Health Jacksonville Turkey Trot are an investment in vital, lifesaving work at UF Health Jacksonville, in our community and across the region. Funds raised through the Turkey Trot have supported:
100+ patients in the the UF Health Jacksonville Leon L. Haley Jr., M.D., Brain Wellness Program through one calendar year for housing and transportation.
44 patients in the UF Health Jacksonville Leon L. Haley Jr., M.D., Brain Wellness Program for the Equine Program. The equine program, facilitated by Jacksonville Equestrian Center: H.O.R.S.E Therapies, offers half-day programming on Saturdays during the IOP sessions. Participants engage in interactions with horses, which have been shown to provide a range of benefits, including improved balance, coordination, and strength, as well as enhanced self-confidence, communication skills, and emotional regulation.
Purchased a Transcranial Doppler (TDC). TCD is a non-invasive ultrasound that measures blood flow in the brain. TCD provides real-time monitoring and helps to monitor cerebral blood flow, detect increased intracranial pressure and identify vasospasms – all crucial intreating traumatic brain injuries. It is also portable and repeatable making it a valuable tool in the ICU, emergency settings and long-term monitoring of TBI patients.
Sent five staff to attend a Transcranial Doppler training course at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Purchased an Intracranial Ultrasound to support the UF Health Jacksonville Neurosurgery Department. This advance technology, used in Traumatic Brain Injury aftercare, helps open the blood-brain barrier via ultrasound.
Help to provide education around TBI’s and brain injuries through the UF Health Jacksonville Trauma Prevention Education Program.
The purchase of two Video Laryngoscopes. Often trauma patients, particularly TBI patients require intubation (breathing tubes) to support them.
10 members at the Brooks Rehabilitation Brain Injury Clubhouse for one month. The Brooks Brain Injury Clubhouse is a full-time day program that provides for the long-term recovery needs of individuals who have experienced an acquired neurological/brain injury. It expands the system of care provided by Brooks Rehabilitation and serves as a bridge to community and vocational re-integration. Brooks is pleased to offer the only program of its kind for people with an acquired brain injury in the state of Florida.
Whether you are running, walking, trotting, participating virtually, promoting on social media or making a donation, by supporting UF Health Jacksonville's Turkey Trot, YOU are a part of the lifesaving work we do with TBI's and other brain injuries everyday.

For over a decade, we’ve tested our limits on the RAT 1000. But for the last few years, I’ve been quietly building something bigger. Much bigger.
Project TUBA: The Transcontinental Unpaved Bicycle
Adventure. 4000+ miles. Atlantic to Pacific. Dirt, gravel, and backroads.
The route is 80% complete. We have verified the line from the Atlantic Ocean to the Arizona border. This verified route is over 3000 miles through Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. The final piece of the puzzle is the Western Leg (Arizona and California, ending in San Diego), and we are heading out this January to scout and verify the final miles.
I want you to come with me—digitally.
The "Founding Brick" Offer: We are selling 1,000 permanent spots along the route.
Your Legacy: You choose a spot. You get a permanent "Course Point" on the official GPS file with a short motivational message from you to every rider who ever tackles this trail.
Your Access: Founders get lifetime access to the TUBA route files and guidebooks
Your Impact: 100% of these funds go to gas, mapping tech, and logistics to finish the Western scout this winter.
Note: We have reserved the "High Motivation" zones (the hardest climbs and the longest/most tedious flats) for you guys. If you want to leave a message for a rider suffering across the Llano Estacado, now is your chance.
The Guardian Miles (Memorials) For those who are riding with us in spirit. We ride gravel to find peace and safety away from traffic. Sadly, many of us have lost friends who didn't make it home. The Guardian Mile is a permanent memorial waypoint placed at a scenic overlook or summit along the TUBA Trail.
Permanent Legacy: A dedicated waypoint with the rider's name and a commemorative note.
Prime Locations: Placed at high points and areas of reflection, not just random mile markers.
Giving Back: 50% of every Guardian Mile purchase is donated to the League of American Bicyclists.
We also offer a TUBA Founder option which gives the founder access to the detailed route information. It also adds your name to the Founders' list in the guide materials and other supporting media. If you've read this far and don't recognize the time, effort and expense required to put together a project of this magnitude and still feel you deserve access to the route info for free, here you go: current coupon code = knotwurst for $25 off the Founder Donation. Please note, if you choose this option your name will not be included on the Founders' List.
Let’s build the Longest, Hardest, Dirtiest gravel route in America together!
