Come join us for our annual 5K Run, presented by Amerant Bank and hosted at Barry University in Miami Shores! It’s the very neighborhood where our dear Kennedy Bailey grew up and made friends. This 5K RUN is open to all families, age groups, and abilities. We’ll be using real-time chip tracking technology from our amazing partner Split Second Timing & Wildside to monitor all results and standings. Cash prizes for the 1st place male and female athlete! 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed male and female medals in each age division! Post-race party for all!
This race was the brainchild of Sienna Alvarez-Coia, a childhood friend of Kennedy’s who wanted to create this race in her honor. Sadly, Kennedy struggled with depression due to a mental health crisis and passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022. In her memory, our Kennedy Kids Foundation is dedicated to crowdfunding, fundraising, and developing programs and initiatives to prevent youth suicide. We’re focused on mental health and education, increased help-seeking behavior, and equitable access to care. Our goal is to end this tragic epidemic and save lives.
Will you join us in supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention among teens?

Get ready for an unforgettable morning of running, community, and purpose at Crandon Park! Our event features a 10K, 5K, and Kids Dash, beginning at 7:30 AM, set against one of the most beautiful running backdrops in South Florida.
Both the 10K and 5K courses are professionally certified and clearly marked, giving runners a reliable, well-organized course designed for an enjoyable and competitive race experience. Whether you're chasing a personal record or simply soaking in the scenery, the course layout allows you to settle into your pace and fully enjoy the run.
The 5K course is a single-loop route that takes runners on a scenic tour through beautiful Crandon Park. Along the way, you'll pass through the park’s peaceful garden area, continue along stretches of lush, wooded pathways, and finish with a stunning run beside Miami’s breathtaking Biscayne Bay. It’s a course that combines natural beauty with smooth, runnable terrain. 10K runners will complete the loop twice, doubling the experience and the challenge.
To keep runners energized and supported, there will be water stations and enthusiastic volunteers positioned along the course, cheering you on and helping you stay hydrated every step of the way.
Our Kids Dash is a fun 100-yard sprint designed to get the youngest runners involved and excited about the day.
There will be awards for the top male and female finishers in each age group, along with a grand prize for the overall male and female champions. All participants will also have the chance to enter a raffle featuring a prize basket valued at over $500.
Most importantly, this race is about more than running. The event is held in honor of families impacted by addiction, with a mission to raise awareness and hope within our community. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 to help send someone to recovery.
At The Donnie Baumann Foundation, we believe recovery is a shared human experience—not just from addiction, but from anything that keeps us from living fully. Whether facing mental health challenges, chronic illness, or substance use, we’re all moving toward the same hope: healing and renewal.
We were founded in honor of a man of faith whose love for running, hard work, and the outdoors reflected a life of perseverance and purpose. Through our programs and race series, we carry that spirit forward. With your help, we hope to create opportunities for movement, connection, and access to care.
Come run with us, support a meaningful cause, and be part of a community working together to bring hope and healing.
All runners will receive a T-shirt and medal.
Virtual participants are welcome to submit their times for recognition on the virtual leaderboard, but official age-group awards and overall prizes will only be awarded to runners participating in person on the certified course.
