"Old Florida" describes a bygone era long before theme parks, mega-resorts, HOAs, and pickleball.
Google it...it's actually a thing.
These dirt roads will take you back in time. Live oak trees with
Spanish moss hanging off their branches have been there for 100yrs. Cool crystal clear springs becon just minutes from the venue. More cows than people along the route will surprise you. Roadside fruit stands selling oranges and watermelon await. Front porches and sipping sweet tea are local past times.
Old Florida Gravel will challenge you physically and reward you mentally. The miles pedaled will transport you to a forgotten era that you are certain to never forget!

Anyone who eats 12 or more donuts will receive an additional bonus of 1 minute per donut (over 12) taken off their final run time.
“Donut zones” will be located at the 1 mile mark, 2 mile mark, and 3 mile mark of the course. All donuts must be finished in the “donut zones”.
Each adult entry comes with 1 free child’s entry into the kid’s fun-run (if you have more than 1 child they can take part also at no additional cost, after all it is just plain fun).

Honor ALL of our Veterans with this annual 5K 10K and Kid’s Honor Runs for all ages at The Dunedin Veterans Day Runs on Sunday November, 8 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
We celebrate and run with the most
patriotic runners who come to Dunedin, Florida to create what always becomes the best Veterans Day 5K, 10K, and kids HONOR runs in Florida where we will celebrate veterans from across the world who have served and are still serving the US military. We are proud to announce each of those you hold in your heart for this event so bring a post it or tell us their name and service when you arrive!
The race begins and ends across from downtown near the VFW (for great photo ops) at the Dunedin Hale Center 330 Douglas Avenue, Dunedin, FL 34698, directly across the street from Dunedin Stadium.
The finishers medals are all American themed and outstanding as this is a great way to commemorate those whom YOU LOVE who have served our great nation.
At 8:10 a.m. race management will call all children and parents out to the Pinellas Trail for a kid's dash. Children are separated by size and they are never out of sight for this adorable run. Have your cell phone video and camera ready. This run is a stroller friendly run for our first medalists of the day and parents are welcome to run with your kids and babies.
The 10K is a 2 loop course of the 5K route set for perfect 10K distance and popular to those runners training for larger or more competitive races. The 5K run/walk will begin also on the fully paved Pinellas Trail 2 minutes after the 10K AT 8:30 a.m.
All registrants will a receive a BEAUTIFUL and substantial American finisher's medal and top finisher’s framed awards are put out for the first 15 males and first 15 females to finish the 5K. All 5K and 10K runners will receive a RUN FLORIDA promotional shirt at check in. There is no shirt for the youth distances. Race results can be found later on race afternoon on our event website www.727CanRace.com
We do not post results at the venue in a deliberate attempt to maintain our laid back celebratory group of runners and walkers. Your times are gathered using the electronic race splitter timing system though we do continue to advertise this as a non-competitive running event. Pinellas county Sheriff's deputies will man the 4 way stop signs ialong the race route heading north out and back on the Pinellas trail which is fully paved and stroller friendly.
An email will be sent to all registrants the day prior to the event by 4 pm with your bib number assignment and parking and arrival instructions for an easy the check in on race day only. If you don not receive this email the day before the race by 4 pm please text Suzanne at 727-226-7223/727-CAN-RACE and we'll get it immediately over to a correct email address.
This is a co-sponsored event with the City of Dunedin so law enforcement will be positioned at each intersection along the fully paved Pinellas trail in an out and back course from the Hale Center heading north. Each of you will be running or walking through the most beautiful part of North Pinellas in downtown Dunedin, Florida.
Dunedin is the home to a fabulous VFW and American Legion that each of you will pass along the 5K route so please cheer back to any veterans who are outside cheering you on as this is our day to celebrate all those who have
Parking is free at the Hale Center as well as at the Dunedin Library. And email will go out the day before the race around 4 PM with your bib number assignment and final arrival instructions for a successful morning where we celebrate many who have served in all branches of the US military, law enforcement, fire rescue, and 1st responders
Happy Veterans Day and we hope to see you in Dunedin to honor Veterans Day 2025...friends and family are always welcome.

Back by popular demand! This is one of our favorite races, and we are thrilled to be able to make it happen again!
We have not been able to hold this race for the past 2 years because of the damage
that was caused by the hurricane, and the city wouldn't allow any organized events until all repairs were complete.
Let's honor America's veterans with an event focused on supporting them! This event will be a fun run and will have a certified time for all distances! The path is the paved Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail on the southern side of the bridge. There is a relatively high (in Florida terms) peak that each distance (with the exception of the 5K) will cover along the route that allows for a picturesque view of Tampa Bay. It is truly one of Tampa's most beautiful places to run or walk.
There will be a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and 15.5-mile option for this race. All distance runs will go along the south side trail of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, out and back style. While each of the distances provides a beautiful view, only the 15.5-mile race will run the entire length of the Causeway.
We will have plenty of aid stations along the course with water and an electrolyte drinks. There will also be food-type fuel for half marathon and 15.5-mile runners. We will ensure sanitary conditions for all aid stations, but feel free to ask questions about specifics.
Post Race celebrations will be taking place at 10:30am at Whiskey Joe's. Please feel free to stick around and socialize.
