District Running Collective was born at midnight on January 1, 2013, when a hundred runners flooded the H Street Corridor and changed how Washington, DC thought about running. Founded by runners who saw their city as both course and community, the crew built something radical, where fitness, fun, and belonging collide. Now, from self-described non-runners to half marathon finishers, District Running Collective welcomes everyone, reflecting the full diversity and energy of the capital. Their philosophy is simple, running is a lifestyle, not a chore. Weekly runs use DC's streets as the stage, its bridges and hills as the challenge, giving runners a chance to push past limits alongside a crew that shows up for each other.

GRIT USA launched in Washington, DC in January 2020 when Marcus, a designer and brand strategist with endurance athlete credentials, recognized a gap in multisport representation. Founded on the belief that representation in endurance sports is non-negotiable, GRIT USA is a black-owned multisport team built to push individuals to new limits, inspire communities, and drive sociocultural change. With around 15 athletes gathering at Hains Point and lululemon Georgetown, the crew remains welcoming, diverse, and driven, united by movement and a shared hunger to go further than ever before.
