No matter how you measure a 0.5K (no typo here), it tallies up to one lap plus 180 feet on a standard running track, 5 1/2 football fields, half a kilometer, 546.8 yards, 1,640 feet, or 19,685 inches.
Because a marathon, a 10K or even a 5K may be too great a distance for some, members of the Downtown Visalia Kiwanis will offer a "Point 5K - The Race for The Rest of Us."
The race will begin at 10am on March 21, 2026, Saturday, at Mooney Grove Park (next to Tulare County Museum) in Visalia. Registration will begin at 9am.
An aid station (sponsored by Denny's restaurant) at the halfway mark is there to fill needs for a donut hole break, coffee, or juice.
When you make it to the finish line, you will get a donut and a 1st place medal. That's right, everyone gets a 1st place medal!
While the event is tongue in cheek, the Kiwanians' aim is sincere. Proceeds from the race will benefit Kiwanis projects that serve the children of our community.
Kids (10 years old and younger) can participate for FREE (No T-Shirt). If you want a T-Shirt, sign up for Youth. Strollers are welcome.
Come as a Donut!
We will award a small trophy to the Best Dressed Donut costume.
Are you a Shoe-Kicking Master? Prove it at our Brown's Shoe Fit Shoe Fling Competition right after the Donut Run/Walk. Swing and kick your shoe as far as you can! The competition will be divided into Adults (18 and over), Youth (Under 18), and Kids (10 and under). Fly, shoe, fly!
We also have a special treat this year. The Some Assembly Required Barbershop Quartet will sing for us during registration (9am - 10am).

DISCRIPTION
ProYouth is hosting the 5th Annual color run. Come out and run in our 5k, or bring the whole family and run, jog, or dance your way through our 2 mile course. We will throw in the color and the fun! With registration you will receive a participation medal and a white shirt to get blasted with color. There will be color stations throughout the fun run and powder will be in the air so bring a head covering if you wish. After your race, enjoy a snack and a colorful dance party with our DJ. All proceeds will benefit the programs and students who are part of the ProYouth afterschool network. Parents if you do not want to run/walk, you can sign the kids up to do the run/walk and just watch and take photos! See our Facebook page for race updates.
RACE INFORMATION
We will be having two races. Both the 5k and color run will begin at 9:00 AM. The 5K race is for all those who wish to test themselves by competing in our 5k course and people who wish not to be colorized (I'm sure you will get some color, but it will be much less than others). There will be a trophy awarded to the top male and female runner. The race will be timed. Photos will also be taken at the finish line and uploaded onto our page. Please be aware that our course will be on the road and in the grass. The color run is open to people of all ages who want to run, walk, jog, or dance your way through the course. Throughout the fun run you will be blasted with color at the color stations. Photos will be taken at the finish line and along the course. Photos will be posted on our page within 24-72 hours of the finish.
WHAT TO WEAR
We recommend that you wear white for catching the brilliant color and sunglasses for shielding your eyes. Also, you should wear a bandanna around your mouth and nose to keep from inhaling powder. We will supply a mask in case you want to use that.
ENTRY FEE
ALL ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. We are accepting entries online through runsignup.com. Be sure to sign up early as the price will go up as we get closer to race day.
***EVERYONE planning on running/walking The ProYouth Color Run MUST complete a registration form and sign the waiver!
GIVEAWAY/PRIZES
Every participant will receive a medal and a t-shirt plus a swag bag. Anyone who signs up after the cutoff date is not guaranteed a medal or shirt. Trophies will also be awarded for the top male and female in the competitive 5k run.
AFTER THE RACE
We will provide you with a water and banana after the race. You will also be able to hang out at our post-race health fair and listen to Simon Ybarra’s Mobile Dj Service and Entertainment will be providing music during and after the race.

Salty Run Club started in Visalia with one straightforward mission: show up, move together, and earn a pint. Born from Wednesday evening runs that gather at Salty Walrus Brewing Co., this crew has grown into something bigger than pace or performance. Founded in 2025, the club draws runners, locals, and friends of all abilities who value consistency and honest miles over speed. There are no splits here, no race times, no pressure to be anything other than present. The philosophy runs deep: what matters is showing up week after week, sharing the run, and landing those conversations that only happen after exertion and friendship collide. Central Valley grit meets laid-back welcome. Everyone belongs from the first step.
