This run will open for registration on June 20, 2026.

This October 24, 2026 13.1 extreme Eco-Trail run on Santa Cruz Island is a Wilderness run from sea level @ Santa Cruz Island's Prisoners Cove, up through the Nature Conservancy Wilderness, though the central valley, island highlands, peaks, valleys, and mountains, then back to Prisoner's Cove.

This run course offers the best of the National Park and Santa Cruz Island.

The number of entries is regulated by the National Park Service Those who have run before describe the run as the most unique wilderness run in the Pacific.

Our private Island Packers boat ride out and back is a blast, we see so many whales and dolphins.

This run is not suitable for trail walkers or first-time runners. It is a challenging extreme run in a wilderness setting. There are areas of steep single track that have to be walked even by the best. Take a look at past results for times. This will give you an idea. Www.runsantacruzisland.org

We have a Cutoff-Time on the race to be at the second to last aid station. This allows our SAR members to get you back to the start via 4-Wheel drive before the boat leaves the island.

We have a great complimentary after-party lunch on the island.

Past runners overwhelming tell us this is the most remote and scenic run available on the West Coast of the USA.

This is a full non-profit event and your entry helps our Sheriff's Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit while promoting the outdoors, community health, and fitness.

    Thus, there are no refunds.

The course can change from the published description when on race day at the island. If we get rained out or any other action out of our control such as; Natural Disaster, Marine weather or Marine Equipment issues, COVID, permit change, TNC Research Conflicts, NPS cancels our changes restrictions on our Federal permit, laws change, Island Packers, Nature Conservancy requests, weather or health issue or such, your money will still be used for 100% non-profit, take the donation tax write off, and we thank you.

We will make every attempt to move the whole race and your entry if we have to cancel the entire race for any reason listed above. There is no planned backup date.
