Challenging, but BEAUTIFUL!
"The course starts with a steep climb up to the observatory. From there, you will run to the top of the spring to hear the water flowing before turning around for some much-needed downhill. The trail takes you down the other side of the mountain, where you will run a short distance on the road—a section that feels just downhill enough to make you feel like you're flying. Next, you'll hit a short climb up the driveway to the aid station. The course loop itself is just short of a mile, but what a mile! It becomes a fun mental battle, and with epic views and killer swag, it's worth the drive. We are rural, so come run with us and enjoy all that Pendergrass Farms has to offer. Camping is offered as an add-on and check back often for updates as the race gets closer.

About
This backyard ultra takes place at Dry Creek Parkway, in Rio Linda, California (northern Sacramento). In the traditional style, runners will have one hour to complete each 4.17 mile loop. Each new yard/loop will begin every hour, on the hour. If a runner is not in the start corral, ready to begin the next yard, on the hour mark, they're out. The runner who completes the most yards wins. We're now offering a 12-hour "mini" backyard. This is great for anyone who's looking to run anywhere from 4.17 up to 50 miles and gets you in the door at a lower price point.B.A.B.U. is an affiliated Backyard event. This means that as a runner of this event you will be eligible to earn a spot on a National Team for the Satellite Team Championships and the World Individual Championships at Big’s Backyard in Tennessee! You can find our event listed on BackyardUltra.com.See SkybreakerRacing.com for details.History: B.A.B.U. was originally created in 2023 as a fatass (unofficial event). In 2024 it was made an official event as a collaboration between Skybreaker Racing and Auburn Area Trail Runners. In 2025, while the event was still put on by the same organizers, through partnership, BABU fell under the Singletrack Running umbrella. Since then, BABU is back under the Skybreaker Racing name.

About
The 2027 Outlands Endurance Races take place April 17th and 18th out of Peninsula Campground in Pilot Hill, California. What started as a single-day trail running event has expanded into a full weekend of endurance racing across two disciplines trail running and mountain bike riding, built on the same remote singletrack along Folsom Lake that has defined Outlands from the start.Saturday brings the trail runs, 25K, 50K, and 50 mile distances on rugged lakeshore singletrack with steady climbing, quiet terrain, and wide open views that few races ever reach. The 25K and 50K are strong entry points for runners new to trail or ultramarathon distances, while the 50 mile adds more time on feet and harder sections for those looking for a bigger day. All trail run distances register through UltraSignup.Sunday adds the Outlands 50K Mountain Bike Race, starting at Magnolia Ranch and finishing at Peninsula Campground after 50 kilometers through Salmon Falls Ranch and the surrounding terrain.
