Iron X: An Extreme Ironing Race Iron X is an extreme ironing race. Ironists (participants) will run a portion of the historic Western States Trail and iron in some of the most iconic Auburn, CA locations while running a half-marathon.What is extreme ironing? If you're not familiar with the sport, please read this first.Disclaimer: This is a fatass - a glorified group run. There will be no course markings, no medical, no medals, no trekking poles, and no pacers allowed.Links: Iron X LinkTree Iron Locations 1. The Foundation Iron (middle of the old foundation at Robie Point - this is the main structure's foundation, just past the 3-sided "garage foundation.")2. The River Iron (at least knee deep in the river, just S of No Hands Bridge)3. The Foresthill Bridge Iron (top of Kickass, E side of bridge, S side of Foresthill Rd)4. The Dead Car Iron (on top of vehicle remains)5. The Statue & Train Car Iron (next ot the statue's foundation block, E side of Lincoln Ave between Elm & Harrison, downtown
Auburn)6. The Clock Tower Iron (in front of/next to it, Lincoln Way at High St, downtown Auburn)7. The Courthouse Iron (in the parking lot in front of the historic courthouse building)8. The Claude Chana Statue Iron (at the corner of Park St & Washington St, Old Town Auburn) Rules Ironists must wear a button-up (or snap-up) shirt throughout the race, removing it, ironing it, and then putting it back on at each of the above locations (you may wear another shirt underneath).Spectators are allowed at all ironing locations except for The Dead Car Iron.Proof of completion: Post-event, ironists must submit their activity link for verification. (Make sure your activity's privacy is set to public.)Ironists must also take a photo or video of themselves ironing their shirt at each location and submit these, post-event. (We suggest uploading them to your Strava activity. If you're not on Strava, you can submit via email - details on this process will be emailed, post-event.) Each photo or video must
be geo-tagged, so make sure location tagging is enabled in your camera settings. (This enables their visibility on Strava activity maps.) The location, ironist, iron, and board must all be clearly visible and apparent in each video/photo. Having another ironist or spectator take said photo/video is also acceptable, provided they are on location at the same time. "Spectator crew" are allowed for this purpose, but this is all they're allowed to do. Providing aid or assisting in any other way is not allowed, with the following exceptions...New in 2027: We will allow aid at the Foresthill Bridge Iron and the Statue & Train Car Iron. You may bring a drop bag to the Start for this purpose. (This is a moving drop bag; it will go to both locations.) You may also have crew at either or both of these two locations.Penalty: Failure to complete an iron in the location specified and provide the required video or photo evidence will result in a penalty of 10 minutes (added to your finish time) per
location.Gear & Supplies: Each ironist must provide their own ironing board, iron, fuel, and water, and carry them with them throughout the event. No muling allowed.Preparation: There are a few different methods of carrying your ironing board to consider.1. Strap your board directly to your pack. Finding the right pack for this purpose is tricky. Snowboard-mountaineering packs may work, but snowboards are generally a bit narrower than ironing boards. Separate straps could be used to secure the board.2. Add 2 shoulder straps to your board and wear it on your back.3. Add a single shoulder strap to your board and carry it under one arm, with the strap over your shoulder.Feel free to discuss in the Facebook group.Regulations:1. Ironing boards must be at least 3' 3" long and 11" wide. Boards must have full-length legs (no tabletop boards).2. Battery-powered irons are required for this, for obvious reasons. Plastic irons are acceptable. The ironing face of your iron should measure 4 1/2" by 9" or
greater. Course Map Download GPX file. Event's current local time: 2:35 AM PT

Inaugural Year — Where History & Grit Collide April 30 – May 2, 2027 | Georgetown, CaliforniaWelcome to the inaugural Harvest & Howitzer Backyard Ultra — a last-runner-standing race on a private 100-acre Christmas tree and apple farm in the Sierra foothills. The premise is simple: one 4.167-mile loop, every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains.Built by a team rooted in ultrarunning, Western States, Tevis, trail work, volunteering, and community, this race was created to feel like the sport we fell in love with: hard, honest, personal, and full of people who show up for each other. No traditional finish line. No quick medal-and-go experience. Just grit, hospitality, history, and the question every runner faces each hour:Do you have one more loop in you? This is the backyard ultra you came for. This is a gathering of the tribe. The Heartbeat: Community, Crew & Campfire This is a weekend campout, not a quick race. A private farm. Campfires, crews, families, and the space between

12th Annual Courage Triathlon
Race to End Trafficking. Run With Purpose. Move With Courage.
Saturday, August 15, 2026 | Lake Almanor Country Club | 10:00 AM Start
For twelve years, the Courage Triathlon has united athletes, families, and advocates around a cause that demands our attention: the fight against child sex trafficking. What began as a local race has grown into a movement — and this year, we're taking it further than ever.
The 12th Annual Courage Triathlon returns to the stunning shores of Lake Almanor, and this year, we're opening registration to virtual participants nationwide. Whether you're standing at the start line or lacing up your sneakers a thousand miles away, you're part of this fight.
The Course
Run - 2.8 Miles - Scenic road run
Bike - 6.4 Miles - Road cycling course
Row - 3.1 Miles - Kayak or paddleboard
From the adrenaline of a our scenic run and ride through the pines to the rhythm of your paddle cutting across the glassy surface of Lake Almanor, every leg of this course is designed to challenge your body and renew your purpose.
You're not just racing — you're running toward a world where every child is safe.
How to Participate
Solo: Take on all three legs yourself — run, bike, and row the full course at Lake Almanor.
Team Relay: Split the triathlon among two or three teammates. Each member completes one or more legs of the race. Grab your friends, your family, or your coworkers and race together.
Virtual: Can't make it to Lake Almanor? Now you don't have to. Register as a virtual participant and log your own activities, distances, and times — on your schedule, from wherever you are.
We want you to join us in person, however we know that distance should not discourage your heart for supporting Courage. The beauty of virtual participation is that it meets you where you are. Want to run five miles through your neighborhood to show your support? Log it. Planning to paddleboard for two hours around your local marina? We'd love to hear about it. Prefer a walk around the block with your kids and the dog? That counts, too. Every step, every stroke, every mile matters.
Post your photos on Instagram, tag @CourageWorldwide, and let's show the world what a nationwide community of courage looks like. This year, we want to see evidence of support for child survivors from coast to coast.
Why We Race
Every registration, every mile logged, and every dollar raised goes directly toward the mission of Courage Worldwide — an organization dedicated to providing residential housing and comprehensive therapeutic services for child survivors of sex trafficking. These are children who have endured unimaginable trauma, and Courage Worldwide exists to offer them safety, healing, and a future worth fighting for.
When you cross the finish line — whether that's at Lake Almanor or at the end of your driveway — you're telling a survivor that they are seen, they are valued, and they are not alone.

The inaugural Tour de Lincoln was held May 2002, sponsored by the Lincoln Volunteer Center, beginning as a benefit bike ride, and growing to over 600 cyclists participating. The Tour offers a wonderful day of riding the scenic back roads of Lincoln and South Placer County. Great updated routes this year! The ride is fee based and includes a continental breakfast, well stocked rest stops, SAG and mechanical support along the routes. There is a great post-ride BBQ lunch with beer and wine available.
The event was taken over by Rotary Club of Lincoln in 2018 with proceeds to be used to support our club's charitable projects. The 24th annual event will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The Tour offers four courses: 10k route (~6.8 miles), Metric Quarter Century (~16 miles), Metric Half Century (~32 miles), and a Metric Century (~62 miles).
Metric Century: Ride through beautiful oak covered hills passing by horse ranches, old wooden barns, country estates, and lush vineyards. Climb challenging Chili Hill, Baxter Grade, and picturesque Millerton Road, while enjoying three well-stocked rest stops run by local service clubs. Total climbing 4,076 feet.
Metric Half Century: A beautiful ride winding through the hills and horse ranches of rural Lincoln. Beautiful valley views and gentle climbs (1,255 feet of vertical gain). A rest stop will be provided at historic Mt Pleasant Hall.
Metric Quarter Century: A nearly flat loop through rural Lincoln with a rest stop at Mt Pleasant Hall.
10k Route: a nearly flat loop through rural Lincoln

About the Race
This event is run entirely inside the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, set in the beautiful foothills of Coloma along the south fork of the American River. This is the site at which gold was discovered in 1848, igniting the gold rush and leading to California’s quick rise to statehood. All of the courses are a mix of very appealing single track dirt trails and a few paved areas. There are some moderately technical ascents and descents with a lot of switchbacks. There are also some sections of rolling hills and other places where the course is completely flat. With the addition of scenic views and a variety of wildlife, there is plenty to make this run very enjoyable and interesting. The race is held rain or shine. Be aware that it can be very cold in Coloma in the morning. No strollers are allowed in the race. The time limit for this event is 4.5 hours.

Join us for the 55th running of the Journal Jog 8K — "Reno’s Oldest Footrace". Since 1969, this iconic event has been a proud tradition of the Northern Nevada running community, bringing generations of runners together in the heart of Old Southwest Reno.
The flat, fast 8K course winds through scenic, historic neighborhoods before routing into and finishing directly on the Reno High School track — a rare and unforgettable experience you won’t find at any other race.
Families are part of the tradition! The Stroller-Run division gives parents the chance to truly race with their child and compete for a top-three finish, while all other stroller walkers will join the runners and walkers in the main Run/Walk/Stroller-Walk division.
Introducing children to the joy of running, the Junior Jog race will allow children to experience the thrill of participating in a large community race and finish on the track alongside the 8K field. This separate race will take place later in the morning, welcome kids ages 10 and under, and consist of a short, safe run centered around the finish area.
Start Times:
Stroller Run – 7:25 AM
Runners / Walkers / Stroller-Walk – 7:30 AM
Junior Jog - 9:00 AM
Be part of Reno running history. Carry the tradition forward. Experience the Journal Jog 8K!
