In the American calendar, the 4th of July 💐 is an important date as it marks the commemoration of the Declaration of Independence of 1776 from Great Britain 🇬🇧. This national holiday is celebrated with fireworks 🎇, patriotic songs, and barbecues 🍗. But a holiday also means the opportunity to wear a race number! 🎽 Join us in San Mateo to participate in the July 4th Freedom Run 🚏, a no-pressure race that is just a pretext to get together with family or friends 🫶.
The 2026 Run San Ramon presented by the City of San Ramon is celebrating its 40th year! Get a healthy start to your 4th of July with this Independence Day Classic. Enjoy the paved and looped 5K course through San Ramon. All participants will receive a short sleeve commemorative shirt, bib, and participation medal. The Run San Ramon is a chip timed race.

Year 41 — and America's 250th Birthday!
This is the one you don't want to miss.
The Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary Club is fired up to bring you the 2026 Firecracker — and this year is unlike any other. Our nation is celebrating its 250th birthday, and we're throwing the party Santa Cruz style: lace up your shoes, hit the pavement, and kick off Independence Day the way this community has for over four decades at Harvey West Park, Santa Cruz CA.
We're calling all runners, walkers, families, and friends — our goal is 1,000+ runners this year!
That's right. We want to make the 2026 Firecracker the biggest in our history. So grab your crew, sign up your neighbors, rope in your coworkers, and let's pack Harvey West Park on the Fourth of July. Whether you're chasing a PR or pushing a stroller, there's a course for you.
Join us for the 21st annual July 4th Firecracker 5K run. It is an amazing, festive, patriotic, and community event celebrating our independence day! This USAT&F certified course promises to be fast and fun. Lace up your running or walking shoes and enjoy a morning of fitness and community spirit.
RUNNERS AND WALKERS WELCOME
All participants on the course must have a race bib visible on the front of their body at all times. No bikes, scooters, skates or skateboards will be allowed on the course.
We will have a free kids run (10 and under) available to our participants' children at 8am. This includes a free race bib and finisher medal.
There will be 2 water stops/aid stations on the course (at miles 1 and 2) and a ton of delicious and refreshing post-race goodies and bottled water.
The Concord-Diablo Rotary Club will have a pancake breakfast available for $15 from 7:30 am until 11:00 am.
After the race, stay for Concord’s famous and fantastic 4th of July Parade (starting at 10:00 am), complete with floats, bands, equestrian & dance teams and more!

Help make this 4th of July running party even better by inviting your friends, family and neighbors.
