The cobblestones of Calle Crisologo have carried centuries of footsteps. Since April 2025, they carry runners. Just Run Ilocos started with a conviction that cost nothing to state: running should be free, no registration, no membership, no performance pressure. Genesis, the founder, spent years watching beginners and curious runners avoid structured clubs because pace groups and race targets felt unwelcoming. He built Just Run Ilocos around a different idea: show up, lace up, move. Around 50 runners have already joined in the crew's first months, from solo runners to complete beginners to people returning from injury. Every Sunday at 05:30, they gather somewhere in Vigan city, tracing routes through the UNESCO World Heritage streets flanked by ancestral houses and colonial facades. Post-run coffee and longganisa meals anchor the gathering. The crew follows one rule: the only entry requirement is a pair of shoes and a willingness to show up.
