Founded by Gareth in May 2025, Rotterdam Trail Runners brings together 120 runners who trade concrete for the forest single track, technical terrain, and quiet that urban loops can't match. The Netherlands may be known for flat cycling paths and dense cities, but the crew has mapped a different country entirely: Hoge Veluwe National Park's sandy trails through heather and pine, the Biesbosch wetlands where runners spot herons between intervals, and the Kralingse Bos' technical single track. Every Saturday and Sunday at 7am, groups depart Central Station in pace groups and distance options, from half marathon efforts to full marathon adventures. The crew welcomes first-time trail runners learning terrain alongside experienced ultra marathoners seeking training partners. Post-run coffee sessions happen wherever the trail ends, turning weekend escapes into discovery and community.
