Padang Trail Runners emerged in January 2018 when three runners, Amrul, Daniel, and Vedri, recognized something obvious: the extraordinary trails surrounding Padang were being overlooked. They founded the crew to change that, building a community where trail running belongs to anyone willing to show up. Today, around a hundred members from across Padang, representing different jobs and backgrounds, gather twice weekly on the trails of West Sumatra. Thursday night runs at 8pm offer an accessible, social experience through the city. Sunday mornings at 6am are for serious business, with routes climbing into the hills before the heat arrives. Padang Trail Runners operates on a simple belief: move forward together.
