The citadel entrance, 7:30 PM on a Tuesday, has become the heart of Lille's easiest-to-join running crew. GOOD RUN Lille started in August 2022 when friends decided running should prioritize connection over pace. Today, around 40 runners gather weekly at that same corner: university students, office workers, newcomers, and people who have lived in Lille their whole lives. The pace is conversational, slow enough that you can actually talk, fast enough that your legs remember they exist. After the run comes the real magic, a post-run café where strangers become friends and regulars know everyone's story. Founders kept the philosophy simple: the run serves the community, not the other way around.
