Devil’s Ladder Ultra is an epic trail race that features world-class singletrack in a spectacular rainshadow forest ecosystem – Welcome to Cumberland, B.C., Canada.
Not ready to take on an ultramarathon just yet. Maybe “your feet hurt”, “you’re too busy to train” or “you’re just not a morning person.” No worries, we have options for everyone 😉
Devil’s Ladder Ultra has three race distances to choose from, including the 15k Fun Run, the Dirty 30k, and the Full Send 50k. All three distances will take place in the Cumberland Forest and will treat runners to challenging climbs, flowy singletrack, and quad-smashing downhills. You aren’t going to want to miss this one!
The fun doesn’t stop when you cross the finish line. The start and finish for all three races will be located at Village Park in Cumberland. We plan to take advantage of this amazing value by providing all-day music, delicious post-race food for our racers, and a beer garden that will all be conveniently located close to the finish line so you can help us cheer on each and every racer.
We are doing everything we can to set the stage for an unforgettable experience for our racers, volunteers, and spectators. Join us for an incredible day of running and camaraderie on July 11, 2026
The goal of this event is to raise funds for the Cumberland Community Forest Society, United Riders of Cumberland and Comox Valley Ground Search & Rescue. We will promote community connection, physical activity and nature conservation all in one spectacular summer day in Cumberland, BC.

We are excited to announce that the Campbell River Salmon Kings 2026 Swim-a-Thon will take place on Tuesday, July 14 at 6:00 PM, and all CRSK swimmers are invited to participate. This fun and meaningful event challenges our athletes to meet their group swim metre goals while raising funds for two great causes. Junior swimmers are in the pool from 6:00-7:00 PM to reach their goal, followed by Senior swimmers from 7:00-8:00 PM.
What is the Swim-a-Thon about?
Swimmers will work toward their group’s metre goal in the pool, gathering donations in support of their efforts. Proceeds will support the Campbell River Salmon Kings Summer Swim Club, helping us keep our program strong and accessible. 50% of proceeds will be donated to a fantastic local charity.
Metre Goals by Group
Pink ~ 300 metres
Chum ~ 600 metres
Sockeye ~ 800 metres
Coho ~ 1,500 metres
Chinook ~ 2,200 metres
Tyee ~ 3,000 metres
This is a fantastic chance for swimmers of all levels to challenge themselves, work as a team, and contribute to our community.
Let’s come together as a club, have fun, and make every metre count.
Thank you for supporting our swimmers. We look forward to seeing everyone at Centennial Pool on July 14.
The 7th annual 'CVRR Backyard Ultra' will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds. Don’t let the word ULTRA stop you. This is an event for everyone.
Beginning every hour, exactly on the hour, you will run the marked 6,706 meter route through the forests and fields of the CV Exhibition Grounds. All runners begin each subsequent lap exactly at the top of the next hour (not before or after) until they are no longer willing or able to continue this pattern.
When you are no longer willing to do another 'yard', you can relax and enjoy the entertainment as others continue to click off their laps.
*In the spirit of keeping our Comox Valley Backyard Ultra a fun, community-centric event, this year we will impose a maximum of 30 yards/30 hours for all runners. If more than one runner crosses the line after completing 30 yards, at 15:00 on Sunday, July 26, the finisher will be determined by a tie-breaking Mystery Challenge at the Start-Finish area.
There is only one finisher for this event
You might ask 'why this strange distance?' The distance of 6.706 km equals a 'yard' and 24 yards of this distance equals exactly 100 miles over 24 hours.
*The BYU committee has made efforts to be accurate with our route's distance but each yard may not be exactly 6.706 km. Roll with it.
TEAM CATEGORY: Although this is a solo event, you can register as part of a 3-5 person team. All team members start together at the race start and individually run as many laps as each member can. At the end, we will tally up the teams' total laps to see which team ran the most yards. There will be awards for the most yards completed by a team, the best costumes and special team draw prizes. Team members don't have to run the same number of yards. Gather your friends and register now as a solo runner or as a team. It's better to suffer together!

What better way to celebrate British Columbia’s birthday than to take part in a true BC legacy event! The 56th Annual Nautical Day’s 4 Mile Foot Race, the oldest continually held running race on Vancouver Island, is held annually on BC Day in downtown Comox. Old and young have charged through the streets of Comox since this great event started in 1971.
This short 4-mile (6.4km) distance is geared toward the whole family, offering fun and challenge for all running levels. Leaving the start line in downtown Comox, the rolling streets offer stunning views of the Salish Sea and Beaufort Mountain Range. Butchers Road is a spectacular stretch with a mix of Douglas Fir, Pine and other native species on both sides to give the feeling you are running through forest. A prime downhill finish we all love in a race - that gentle, perfect grade that you can really open up if you wish to finish hard!
