Next Years Event Date Confirmed!
Sunday October 25th
‘The Cut’ is a running event unlike any other! It's very social - until it's not - and then it's very social again!! This event has built a reputation around its unique format, social setting and ultimately; the cut-throat nature of your ending - whenever that may come!
Event date for 2026 is October 31 - it falls on Halloween itself - which should make our sister event; the Halloween Hustle, and therefore our audience for our exciting conclusion with the HOT LAP - the largest and loudest yet! So if you want to be part of the action - for as long as you can - jump in now as the event has limited numbers!
For the uninitiated; just what is ‘The Cut’? Well for let’s start with what it’s not! It’s not a last runner standing exactly. It’s not even an Ultra - well at least not for everyone… there’s no knowing exactly kilometres you’ll be running; although we do guarantee it will be somewhere between 10.5k and, on this occasion; 50k… what’s 40k give or take between friends?!
1.5km loops with short breaks, once we hit the 10.5km mark, the cutting commences. Whilst officially you have 15 minutes to complete a lap, once we hit the cut mark; the exeCUTioner has a job to do, and before you head out each time, you'll know how many runners are to be cut on the next lap. Anywhere between one (1) and five (5) people will have their day CUT short!
Our plan is to once again try and run a women's division concurrently. We will run standard 'cuts' operating as we always have; until there's only 25 ladies left or until lap 23 (our second break in play). From then on we run together but introduce a second bike and run two separate cuts; one for each gender, until we only have 3-5 left for a HOT LAP for both men and women - DOUBLE THE DRAMA! But for this to work, we need more ladies - so please spread the word! If we don't get a quorum, we will make adjustments after consulting the ladies on the day.
We stop for one meal break (but we will have some fun action on track to keep you amused) as well and we will have food options on site to select from. The final lap will be around the 5.30pm time, as we welcome all the Halloween Hustle crowd to witness the frantic hot laps to decide the Cut championship - this year for MEN and WOMEN!!
The Juniors get a stand-alone event too! In 2026 - it's going to be ahead of the main action (so they can back up for the Hustle that night)! The Junior event duke it out over a similar format, but with 500m laps, a minimum of 2km and a maximum of 5km to be run, it will get very exciting very quickly! The juniors also feature the 20 second breaks between laps - lets find some run stars of the future!
Falling on Halloween night itself for the very first time; this year's Hustle is going to be special! Your job will be to help things along with the best outfits you can muster, we will be doing our best with some surprises in store!
Halloween Hustle is all about fun (oh and the treats) - our medal is going to be pretty amazing once more! We are back with our two distances and two levels of 'scare factor' so everyone can have an experience they love!
Our racing will be short and sweet but we will have a sideline treat for you to enjoy. Your race times for 2026 are:
5:45pm - Wolf Pack Prowl - 2.5k
6:30pm - Run Resilience 'Zombie Shuffle' 6k
For the first time this year, we are partnering with Race Roster and offering some ASICS Halloween Hustle branded merchandise (some items even include 'glow' printing)! You can select your preferred items during registration and these will be sent directly to you (postage included in pricing). Get in early so you can wear on the big day!
Once again there will be food trucks, a pop up bar, live music, crafts, games and fire shows. Every runner gets a unique Jack O Lantern bib, a glow in the dark medal, free fisiocrem massages, a free drink for the big kids (alcoholic and soft options offered) and the kids get FREE Halloween glow wands to drive parents batty!
For the diehard runners; earlier in the day there will also be a longer, elimination style event called 'THE CUT’ that you can be a part of! There's even a junior CUT! So maximise your fun and double your run!
Get into the Halloween spirit and come for a great night out! Be part of the fun and register TODAY!

After the succesful return of the Mateship Run in late 2025, we are excited to once again host the Mateship Run on Sunday November 8, 2026 and continue to raise funds and awareness around Veteran Services and commemorate Remembrance Day.
Our flagship event is the unique 11.11km event; a nod to the signing of the Armistice to end fighting in World War 1 at the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month. For the diehard runners; we do have a timing mat at the 10km point so you can compare your effort on the day to other events who typically offer 10km events.
There will also be a 5km and 2.5km events; with participants of all ages and abilities encouraged to get involved; enjoying the beautiful creek-side course run in Currumbin with family & friends!
In 2026, we are excited to be introducing a TEAM element to really draw on the Mateship aspect. The times for you fastest 2 male and 2 female team members in the 11.11 event will be added together to provide an accumulative total time for your team. So be sure to start or join a team as you complete your registration.
Join us for a special morning as we pause to reflect on the significance of Remembrance Day, honour those who served and sacrificed, and celebrate the freedoms they fought to protect. Move alongside mates, family & like-minded people, surrounded by the natural beauty of Currumbin.
