Based in picturesque Adelong with rides taking in the surrounding hills and valleys, and the towns of Tumut, Tumbarumba and Batlow.
Ride routes vary, depending on the kind of challenge you are looking for - 20km, 45km, 72km, 117km, or 160km.
NEW THIS YEAR:
44km gravel route with 1,000m of climbing

ROTARY IS A TRUSTED CHARITY:
Funds from the event are applied to Rotary's program of community support for youth development, local charitable organisations, health, and many community service programs.
The focus charity this year will be to bring the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation mobile skin check truck to Tumut during October. Qualified staff will provide free skin cancer checks using the latest 3D Vectra Total Body Photography scanner and on-board biopsy room. Your ride will likely save lives.
The Beechworth Beer Run brings everything you love about trails and ales into a single epic event.
You get to run sweet, flowing trails that aren't usually accessible to runners outside of this event, plus a great weekend getaway location in the mid north of Victoria's ale, wine, foodie and history region, and of course, amazing craft beer, all sensibly hosted and presented in a family friendly environment.
Tour de Trails and Bridge Road Brewers bring you this great social running event that uses the famous Indigo Epic Mountain Bike Trail.
The 30km race will be a bus-supported, point-to-point race following the Indigo Epic from Yackandandah to Beechworth while the 15km and 5km events will be looped courses that start and finish in Beechworth, at Lake Sambal.
Even though this is a Beer Run, the event is open to all ages and will be very family focussed. All over-18 entries will receive a free beer at the completion of the event or two free cans of soft drink for those under 18 years of age.
On course we will have alcohol-free beer at a key checkpoint along with everything else you would expect to see at a trail run aid station including Tailwind Nutrition.
So come Run, Stay and Play at Beechworth with us this October - get your running lederhosen out as it's perfect timing for Oktoberfest!
See you in Beechworth!
Yours in ales and trails,
the Tour de Trails event team.
A POLITE NOTE REGARDING REFUNDS / TRANSFERS
If you want to cancel your entry, you must do so prior to 1 September, 2026, and have notified event organisers before COB on this date.
Email [email protected].
You will receive your entry fee in refund less a $30 administration fee.
If you withdraw from the event and notify the event organiser AFTER 1 September 2026, you will NOT receive a refund under ANY circumstances.
Why? Well, it’s complex, but essentially a lot of the money that comes in from entry fees has already been spent well prior to race day on things like course logistics, insurance, materials, hiring of infrastructure, staff etc. Trust us, no one’s trying to diddle anyone here – we’re not in outdoor recreation industry to be millionaires, trust us! Feel free to chat to us about the ins and outs – we’re pretty honest peeps.
And no, you cannot transfer your entry to a future event. Please do not ask as refusal seems to offend!
YOU CAN, HOWEVER, TRANSFER YOUR ENTRY TO ANOTHER PERSON WHO CAN RUN ON THE DAY. See FAQs on website for details.

Ultra trail race with 11km, 22km, 50km, 100km and relay options on historic Hume and Hovell Track through native bushland.
The Hume & Hovell Ultra utilises sections of the Hume & Hovell Walking Track, following a historic route taken by explorers Hamilton Hume and William Hovell on their 1824 expedition to Port Phillip Bay. Feel the magic of the native bushland as you run through the majestic mountains and pass historic relics along Burra Creek.
In 2026, there will be a 22km, 50km, 100km and 100km relay event. We are also adding an 11km event to allow even more opportunities for people to discover trail running!
More information about courses and maps can be found here:
https://humeandhovellultra.com
The races at Hume and Hovell have generous cutoffs and we strive to be beginner-friendly. The 11km, 22km and 50km events are great for first-time trail runners, and the 100km, with 24 hours, is a great opportunity for those tackling the distance for the first time.
To ensure safety and reduce the risk of adverse events, participants in the 100km must have run a qualifying event- see more information here: https://humeandhovellultra.com/index.php/100km-ultra
It is possible that an unforeseen emergency, such as, but not limited to, a bushfire or floods, may prevent the Hume & Hovell Ultra proceeding. There will be no entry fee refunds to any entrant if the event is cancelled and /or significant parts of the course become inaccessible at the direction of empowered Authorities in the two weeks leading up to and including the event.
