    This spring, racing fans and runners of all skill levels and ages will have the opportunity to “run the course” at the 8th Annual Grand Prix Foundation of Long Beach 5K on April 12, 2026, which will benefit local charities through the Grand Prix Foundation of Long Beach.

    Participants will run a two-lap tour of the world-famous Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach racecourse including Pine Avenue and Seaside Way, with the finish at the official Grand Prix start/finish line on Shoreline Drive. Kids 12 and under can get in on the action with the Kids’ Turbo 1K, which will take place after the main races on a portion of the regular racecourse. The other two races will be the Elite/Pro 5K (those who can finish the race in under 25 minutes) which will start at 7:00 a.m. and the run for the general public, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

    Each runner will receive a finisher medal, an official Grand Prix Foundation 5K t-shirt, post-race refreshments and two complimentary Friday general admission tickets to the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, a $68 value. There will also be photo ops and activities in the 5K festival area at the conclusion of the run.

    Join us for a thrilling celebration of loving our planet, environmental stewardship, and movement!

    Start Location: Alamitos Beach, 780 E Shoreline Dr. Long Beach, CA

    Parking: Parking in the lot is $2/hour and starts at 8am, if you are running the Half/10m you can use the Passport app to pay for parking. Street parking is free.

    Event Schedule

    6:20am – Bib pick-up opens

    7:00am – Half marathon & 10m start

    7:30am – 5k & 10k start

    7:35am – Registration & start line close

    10:20am – Course closes (3 hours, 20 minutes for the Half and 10m)

    Early start of 6:30am may be pre-arranged for half marathoners, email your request to events@hightideruns.com. All early starters will not be eligible for awards.

    Out and Back Course

    5k & 10k: The 5k route is used for the 5k (one lap) and 10k (two laps) – 5k route

    10m: The 5m route is used for the 10m (two laps) – 5m route

    Half: The 5m route is run twice and the 5k route is run once for the Half – 5m route and 5k route

    The beach path is an open course, so you will encounter others using it. When we start the race, please stay on the right side of the beach path. The right side is for pedestrians and the left side is for cyclists.

    On-Course Support: A fully stocked water station is located along the course. The finish line will also have an aid station stocked with water, electrolytes, gels, and fruit snacks. We have a first aid kit at each station and all High Tides Crew Members have received CPR training. The turns are clearly marked with chalk, a runner turn sign, and a flag

    Final Details

    Bib: Please wear your race bib on the front of your shirt so we can track your time and send your pics!

    Gear Check: You may leave personal items with staff at the registration tent. Please bring your own bag.

    Awards: All finishers earn a race medal. 1st place medals are given to the overall 1st male and female in each distance.

    Results & Photos: An email with race results and photos will be sent the day after the race and earlier on Instagram. Race photos are free!

    AAMDSIF provides education, support, and hope for patients living with aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) and related bone marrow failure diseases.

    It's back! We are hosting our 2nd Annual Earth Day Race! We're excited to be hosting another one of our NIGHT races!

    Your $20 entry fee will get you this unique Earth Day medal and a neat finisher’s bib. We will also have additional medals for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female to finish.

    If you ran last year's Earth Day 5k, you know exactly what’s in store! This is an out-and-back course right on the beach boardwalk alongside the sand and surf. The views are absolutely beautiful. We’ll meet right by the Belmont Brewing Company in Long Beach, at the start of Veterans' Pier, and head out on the beach path for a 5k. Bib pickup is between 6 pm and 6:30 pm.

    Afterwards, runners will head inside BBC for food, drink, and laughter.

    Results will be posted online within 36 hours of the event and this event counts for your Century Club totals, if you're a member of AREC.
