Glow Walk for Life 2026

The 25th Annual Covington Y Cheerios® Challenge is a fundraiser for the Covington Y's Annual Campaign, which helps make Y programs accessible to all families and children in our community. Registration for the 1 mile, 5k, and 10k races includes a t-shirt. Participation medals will be given for the Trix Tot Trot. Age group and overall winner awards will be presented for the 1 mile, 5k, and 10k races.

After the race, join us for the post-race festival featuring live music, free food, local vendors, and activities for kids. You may even see the Trix Rabbit or Cheerios® Honey Bee!

Running in the Covington Y Cheerios® Challenge helps ensure that every child can participate in Y programs like youth sports, swim lessons, and summer day camp. Your race registration fee supports the YMCA's WHY IT MATTERS Annual Campaign. Financial assistance, funded through the Annual Campaign, is available based on need for all Y programs. The Y actively seeks to identify and involve those in need. The Cheerios® Challenge is the Covington Y's largest fundraiser for the WHY IT MATTERS Annual Campaign.

TREAD Academy is hosting its 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk.

Reading is the foundation of education, opportunity, and lifelong success—but many students in Georgia are struggling to reach that foundation.

Recent reports show that approximately 62% of Georgia’s third graders are not reading proficiently, a critical milestone that strongly predicts future academic success. Students who are not reading on grade level by third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school, making early literacy one of the most important issues facing our communities today.

Literacy challenges don’t stop in childhood. Nearly 1 million adults in Georgia have low literacy skills, which affects employment opportunities, economic mobility, and even the ability to support the next generation of learners.

The Run for Reading 5K was created to help change that trajectory.

Each year, our community comes together to raise awareness and support literacy initiatives that put books in children’s hands, strengthen reading programs, and encourage a culture of learning. By running or walking in this event, participants are helping promote a simple but powerful idea:

Every child deserves the opportunity to read, learn, and succeed.

Together, we can take steps—literally and figuratively—toward building stronger readers and brighter futures.

After the race, stay and enjoy our Annual Spring Festival. All race participants will receive free entry to the festival.

*You will do two loops around beautiful Deshong Park.

The Night Owl 5K is a run/walk through Panola Mountain State Park, just outside of Atlanta, with all proceeds benefitting AWARE's mission of wildlife rehabilitation and education! We accept injured and orphaned native Georgia wildlife, like an owl hit by a car or a baby opossum that lost its mom. We heal their wounds if they're injured, raise them up if they're orphaned, always with the goal of returning them to the wild. On race day, non-releasable AWARE wildlife will be there to cheer you on from the sidelines and greet you at the start/finish. You'll get pictures with the animals, a t-shirt, a chance to win medals, and more. About half our participants walk, so it's suitable for runners/walkers of all ages and skill levels. The cost before June 6th at 6:00PM is $25.00 per person. The day of the event will be $30.00 per person.

Family discount registering 3 or more is $20.00 per person before June 7th. The day of the event will be $30.00 per person.

You must preregister to guarantee a t-shirt by May 15th . 12 and under, no charge and no t-shirt.
