Walk for Glacier View Lodge September 20, 2026 Welcome to the 3rd Annual Walk for Glacier View Lodge Together for Glacier View: We Walk, We Give, We Grow On Sunday September 20, 2026 teams and individuals will walk 2k in a scenic, park like setting at Glacier View Lodge (GVL) or virtually, anywhere they choose. New this year is an opportunity to tour and enjoy GVL's amazing Mountain View and Secret Gardens. We walk to raise funds for music therapy, bringing joy to our elders. While walking the Glacier View Lodge property, you will view and imagine the potential for seniors housing in the Comox Valley The walk starts at 1 PM at Glacier View Lodge, 2450 Back Road, Courtenay. Please allow time for parking and sign in. Parking details are on the Course Map found on the left sidebar of this page. Everyone is welcome to attend, to walk or simply relax and enjoy the view of the Comox Glacier and mountains. So residents’ families, Society members, friends of GVL and business supporters we hope to

see all! After the Walk, we will have an opportunity to tour a lovely garden and also be entertained by Sherri Smith, a local guitar playing, singer songwriter with an amazing voice. Enjoy the music with light refreshments. Throughout its extensive history, Glacier View Lodge has always maintained a close relationship not only with the residents it cares for, but also the entire Comox Valley.

    The Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race (MOMAR) is the ultimate weekend challenge, pushing your mind and body to the edge in the rugged forests and shorelines of Vancouver Island. Located in the historic mining town of Cumberland, this adventure race offers world-class single-track mountain bike trails, breathtaking terrain, and ocean views. Completing MOMAR is a test of mental and physical strength, coordination, and endurance. 2026 will mark the 46th edition of the MOMAR in our 26-year history.

    1000 racers can choose to compete in one of three races: the 20K Quest–a paddle and trek-only adventure, or the classic 30K Sport and 50K Enduro races, which put your paddling, trekking, and mountain biking skills to the test.

    Hornby Island 50k & 25k

    Experience one of BC’s most beautiful trail races! The Hornby Island 50K and 25K showcase the island’s incredible mix of forest singletrack, ocean views, and flowy ridgelines that make this place a trail-running paradise.

    The 50K (route) is a full island tour with roughly 1,400 m of elevation gain, weaving through mossy forest, rugged coastal bluffs, and fast, runnable sections that keep you smiling (and sweating).

    The 25K (route) offers a taste of the same magic - steep climbs, lush forest, and sweeping views - perfect for anyone looking for a challenging but approachable distance.

    Both courses are fully marked and supported by our legendary volunteers. Afterward, stick around for a relaxed island-style celebration with food, community, and good vibes by the sea.
