Join us on Sunday, May 31 as the North Country Mission of Hope holds its 7th Annual Color Run!

Run through the scenic trails and trees of Rulfs Orchard in Peru, NY, passing by the berry patches with splashes of spring like color. Have fun running or walking through the orchard in a specially marked course while enjoying the apple blossoms and the explosions of color raining down on you from each of the 6 color stations throughout the run. Balloons, music, and excitement will fill the air in preparation for the 5K race.

Check-in begins at 12:30 with the Color Run stepping off at 1:30pm. T-shirts will be available on-site in a variety of sizes (Adult and Youth, size selection is first-come, first-served). Special parking for competitors and spectators will be off of Telegraph Road, just east of the store and main parking lot. Online registration is $25, with race day registration available for $35. There is never a charge for children under 6. Register today and save!

All proceeds will support the Mission's operations in Nicaragua, domestic mission work in the Appalachian region of Kentucky as well as providing North Country families with medical equipment and other items.

    Last Man Standing Lake Placid

    July 25th, 2026 at 9:00 AM

Last Man Standing is a backyard ultra race held on the pristine, wooded trails at Mt. Hovenberg in Lake Placid, New York. Based on the original Backyard Ultra format created by Lazarus Lake, the rules are simple—but finishing is anything but.

You must complete one 4.167-mile loop every hour on the hour. Finish a loop early? Great—rest, refuel, stretch, panic, question your life choices—just be back in the corral before the next bell rings. The moment you fail to start a loop on time, you’re out.

Some show up to win. Most show up to find out what they’re made of. Whether your goal is 2 loops or 40, this event is about going further than you thought possible.

The Last Man Standing course is as inviting as it is challenging. Those who are new to trail running and the backyard ultra format may find themselves completing new personal best distances. Trail veterans will push against their toughest limits and break through them!
