The 13th edition of the Scranton Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, beginning and ending at PenFed Credit Union Field at Memorial Stadium. The goal of the race is to provide a superior event highlighting the local area and in doing so, bring increased exposure and revenue for local businesses.

Please note the start times for the half marathon run (8:00 AM) and the half marathon walk (6:45 AM).

***BACK FOR 2026 - Run/Walk Category

We're pleased to offer a new run/walk category for the half marathon. Please select this option when registering if you plan on doing a combination of both running and walking on the course. As a run/walker, you will start at 8 AM with the run and will be timed as a runner. If you will be only walking the course, please select the Half Marathon Walk tab when registering.

***Half Marathon Cutoff Time – In the interest of safety and to allow city streets to reopen as scheduled, the racecourse will remain open to all participants who reach the North Washington Ave. and Olive Street intersection (roughly 8.3 miles) by 10:30 AM. This would be an 18:00 minute per mile pace for runners and a 28:00 minute per mile pace for walkers. Those participants who are unable to meet the 10:30 AM cutoff time will be directed to turn right onto Olive Street to head back to the stadium and will not be able to complete the full 13.1-mile course and their finish time will not be recorded.

**5k Run Cutoff time - In the interest of safety and to allow city streets to reopen as scheduled, there will be a 50 minute cutoff time for all participants in the 5k. This would be a 16 minute per mile pace. If you are unable to finish the race in this timeframe, your time will not be recorded.

Build-N-Athlete is a nonprofit organization committed to ensuring every child has access to sports, regardless of financial circumstances. By eliminating the cost barriers associated with equipment, we strive to give all young athletes the opportunity to play, grow and compete. Through fundraising, community support and donations, we work to provide gear that allows kids to experience the many benefits of sports—from teamwork and discipline to confidence and resilience.

In addition to our 10K, 5K, and Walk, we’re excited to host a FREE Kids Fun Run as part of our #OperationTouchGrass initiative, which encourages kids to step away from screens and experience the joy of movement. The Kids Fun Run will take place after the awards ceremony, so be sure to stick around and cheer on the young athletes!

This event isn’t just about running—it’s about building confidence, fostering community and ensuring that every child has the chance to play.
