DOWNTOWN DOUBLER CHARITY PARTNER

We have a charity partner for the Downtown Doubler! You can help raise funds to keep the Ohio River Greenway (where the race takes place) the beautiful treasure it is. You can add a donation to your registration or you can elect to fundraise and if you raise $150 or more, we will refund your registration fee!

The Greenway in New Albany includes 70 acres of wetland and bottomland forest for hiking, wildlife viewing and exploration, in addition to multi-use paths and a roadway (Water Street) with an extensive riverfront view. Future plans call for the path at the river's edge continuing to West 10th Street, marking the Greenway's western boundary.

As caretakers of the New Albany portion of the Ohio River Greenway, the City of New Albany and the City of New Albany Parks Department have a mission to strive to enrich the quality of life and well-being of our citizens, visitors, and future generations by creating opportunities for each to learn, grow, and play through use of our various parks and recreation programs.

When you run or walk this 5k, you are helping remove those barriers and bring sustainable safe

water solutions to communities that need them most.

Your registration helps support WaterStep’s mission to provide sustainable safe water,

Even if you're not lacing up for the Steps for Safe Water 5k on April 19th, 2026, at Lynn Family

Every single day, millions of people walk an average of 3 miles just to collect water, and too

often it isn’t safe to drink.

    Your donation helps change that.

By giving today, you’re supporting WaterStep’s mission to provide sustainable safe water,

The Humana Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon & Marathon is a long-standing tradition held every spring in Kentucky. It has become the largest annual day of road racing in the state. As 2026 marks the 53rd annual miniMarathon and 25th annual Marathon, the Festival looks forward to another historic event. Participants will start at Louisville Slugger Field in downtown Louisville and run through numerous neighborhoods, experiencing all aspects of our wonderful city, including a run through the infield of historic Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. Then cross the finish line where they will be greeted by family and friends for our post-race party!

Back for 2026 is the Kentucky Derby Festival 5K presented by First Urology, taking place on Friday, April 24th at 7pm. This race, which debuted in 2025, is an exciting addition to the Race Weekend and also gives runners the opportunity to complete the KDF Race Challenge by completing the 5K on Friday, then either the mini or Marathon on Saturday for a 3rd medal!

Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in our virtual race, which will allow runners who cannot join us in Louisville to complete the mini or full marathon wherever is convenient for them.
