1 Miles 10k 25k 50 Miles 50k Run Trail

Saturday, April 4, 2026.

This event hosts a deceivingly tough course, at a really easy to get to venue. With 2 loops for the 50km, and one fun loop for the 25km and 10km races. If you're fast, come test yourself against the best trail runners in the country.

If you are looking for your first trail run or to go further than ever before, come out and enjoy this beautiful course with stream crossings, pine trees, hill country flowers, and a whole lot of fun passionate folks waiting to help you reach your goal. For many, this long-standing event has become an annual occurrence that has really become a reunion of friends. We'll be out all weekend and in no hurry to leave. Especially if the wildflowers are popping.

While every racer will get some cool swag, March 10 is the deadline to get a shirt.

Wildflower takes place over two days with a range of standard and unique race distances. This is a beautiful single-track trail system in the Texas Hill Country. The trail will take you through sections of pine, sand, rock, rolling climbs, and fun descents. The scenery allows you to see the fire-struck forest from 2011 as well as the rebirth of the Lost Pines in the area.

The 2026 event will feature a new start/finish staging area and new distances/routes, including a family 1-mile walk, kids run, the new 50/50 Challenge by completing a 50k on each day, or Double 5's with both 5-mile or 5-kilometers each day in both running and rucking divisions.

Stay tuned as we continue to launch 2026 details and designs!

    About the Race

THE RODEO TRAIL RUN SERIES RIDES AGAIN

Kick off your Labor Day weekend with an unforgettable trail running experience at McKinney Roughs Nature Park, a stunning 1,140-acre preserve just 13 miles east of Austin along the Colorado River. Choose from five events that wind through the park's rolling box canyons, wildflower meadows, and towering loblolly pine forests.

This is Central Texas trail running at its finest. You'll traverse four distinct ecosystems. Post Oak Savannah, Blackland Prairie, East Texas Piney Woods, and a lush riparian corridor, all in a single race. Expect technical single-track, scenic river overlooks, and the kind of terrain that makes every mile an adventure.

Return of the Bull marks the second chapter of the Rodeo Trail Run Series, following the inaugural Austin's Rodeo Trail Run at Grelle Recreation Area. All finishers receive a custom rodeo-style belt buckle and event shirt, the signature swag of the series.

Whether you're a seasoned ultra-distance trail runner taking on the full marathon, a veteran racer tackling the half, or a newcomer ready for your first 5K off-road, the Labor Day Trail Challenge has a distance for you.
