Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

Honor Moms with the 2nd Annual Choose Hope Women’s Center "Miles for Mom 5K Race & 1 Mile Walk".

Choose Hope Women’s Center is a nonprofit pregnancy medical clinic and resource center. We provide free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, education and material resources to support women and families from pregnancy until the age of three. We also offer post-abortive support as well as dad coaching.

Fee: $30 through May 8, 2026 (price displayed above includes processing fees)

Race day registration is $35

Start out Mother’s Day weekend by putting on your sneakers and honoring your mom and all moms by supporting Choose Hope Women’s Center.

Run or walk 5K or 1 Mile on the Ma and Pa Trail starting and finishing at Annie’s Playground. This race will be professionally chip timed by Blue Cheetah Sports Timing, LLC

Parking is available onsite

Packet pickup begins at 7:30 am on race morning at Annie's Playground. Race day packet pickup only.

All participants who register by April 18 will receive a race shirt. After April 19, shirt sizes will be limited to those still available and are not guaranteed for those who register after 4/18.

Water and snacks will be available after the race.

Please join Dawn Hill Fight Foundation, Inc. to help patients and families fight Pancreatic Cancer! Please register BEFORE 4/20/2026 to be guaranteed a race t-shirt!

In August 2015, Dawn Hill was living her life, a life she loved so dearly...one she always spoke of as perfect. She had just run a 10K trail run, hiked the Sugarloaf Mountains, kayaked the Gunpowder River and taken a cruise to Bermuda & Bahamas to enjoy the blue waters. On that cruise, she began to have excruciating stomach pains and upon returning home, was quickly diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer (that had metastasized to her liver and stomach). Dawn underwent over a year of intense clinical trial treatments at Hopkins but sadly, she passed away on 12/20/2016, after her warrior-heart fought the 16-month battle. Dawn brought HOPE and INSPIRATION to many of her friends & family and even strangers who followed her story on Facebook through shared posts.

Dawn Hill Fight Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on the financial needs of Pancreatic Cancer patients. The Foundation was created in honor of Dawn Hill, a true WARRIOR!

The Harford County NAACP 4th Annual Freedom 5K Run/Walk will take place on the Ma & Pa Trail at Edgely Grove Park. The race will begin at Annie's Playground, 864 Smith Lane, Fallston, MD 21047. The event will begin at 8:00 a.m., with the run/walk starting at 8:30 a.m. Swag and Medals will be given to each participant.

There will be a DJ, Food Trucks: Kona Ice, Coffee by Coffee Coffee, Divergent Donuts, Vendors, and More.

If you want to Run/Walk Virtually, please register as normal and email the race director for further information.

Early Bird Special: $20 for ages 12 and under and $40 for ages 13 and up from 4/1/2026 until 4/30/2026. Registration rates increase to $25 for ages 12 and under and $45 for ages 13 and up (5/1/2026-6/27/2026). Virtual Participants $45.
