Genessee Valley Ultra is a 2.5 mile trail loop at Genessee Valley Outdoor Learning Center in Parkton, MD. Runners have 24, 12, or 6 hours to complete as many loops as possible. Awards will be presented to the overall winner in each category. This will be a chip timed event. In the event of a tie for number of loops overall time will be used to determine the winner.

-The race will begin at 9AM on Saturday March 28th with a mass start. 6 hour runners must have all laps completed by 3PM on Saturday March 28th. 12 hour runners must have all laps completed by 9PM on Saturday March 29th. 24 hour runners must complete their final lap by 9AM on Sunday March 29th. Any loop completed after a races cut off will not count towards a runners overall total.

  • Runners will be required to begin carrying/running with a headlamp starting one hour before sunset.

  • Primary race nutrition is the responsibility of the runner. Snacks and beverages will be available throughout the event.

Check In, Packet Pick Up, and Camp Set Up will begin on Friday March 27th at 3:30PM. Participants will receive their race materials and be directed to the camping area. NO CAMPER VANS/RVs will be allowed in the camping area(they can be parked in the parking lot, but not in the camping area).

NO PETS are allowed on the property.

    Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

    Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

    Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

    Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

    Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

    Join us for a fun 5k in south-central Pennsylvania. Runners (or walkers) will begin and end their loop at the W. Dale Brougher Foundation YMCA in Shrewsbury, PA. The loop winds along country roads, through a Senior-living campus and community park.

    REGISTRATION

    • Registration opens April 1, 2025 and closes on race day at 8:00 am.

    • Register early! Race fee increases on September 1, 2025

    RACE ROUTE

    The race begins on the YMCA property, proceeds onto township roads, through the SpiriTrust Lutheran Campus and Miller Park, returning to the YMCA. Click to view the map.

    Runner and spectator safety is a priority! For that reason we have the following partners in place:

    RACE TIMING

    • Gun start (no starting mat): all runners begin with the same start time

    • Finish time: when the runner crosses the finish mat

    PLEASE - NO STROLLERS OR DOGS

    • Please, no strollers or dogs.

    • Dogs are prohibited in the community park.

    RACE DAY PARKING

    Parking is available at the YMCA, 100 Constitution Avenue and on Fairview Court. The YMCA parking lot will close at 8:00am and reopen after the start of the race. Constitution Ave will be closed from 8:20 - 8:45 am due to the race start.

    Spectators may safely view the race from the following locations:

    • YMCA campus

    • Miller Park

    RACE CANCELLATION

    If you cannot attend the race, please contact the Race Director. We will make arrangements for you to pick up your bib and race shirt. Unfortunately, we do not provide refunds or bib transfers.
