Bob's Vets of Highlands County is excited to announce our first Veteran's Day 5K RUN/WALK (Faith and Freedom 5K) this fall. We have been trying to think of more fun and unique ways to celebrate our veterans and since Highlands County is known for their love of running, we thought 5K would be a great idea. Our event will be held at Highlands Hammock State Park on Saturday November 8th at 8:00 AM.

Bob's Vets of Highlands County is a faith based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing all-expense-paid hunting, fishing, and kayaking trips for disabled veterans. Our mission is to use the outdoors as a therapeutic tool to promote healing, restoration, and spiritual growth for veterans facing the challenges of their disabilities.

Through these adventures, we seek to honor their services, foster a sense of camaraderie, and encourage personal renewal in the beauty of God's creation. Our goal is to provide veterans with a transformative experience that nurtures their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

    REGISTER A TEAM

    Team Captain’s must register their team first, before team members can join. Team Awards will be given out this year to: Team with the most people and the Fastest Team (aggregate time for the first 5 runners to cross the line for a team.)     PACKET PICK UP

    Teams & Individuals can pick up their packets (which includes race t-shirt) on Wednesday, April 29th from 10am - 6pm at 215 W Orange Street, Wauchula. Packets can be mailed for an additional $7 (will be mailed between April 27-April 28)

    VIRTUAL RACE

    Participants in the virtual race can run or walk anywhere... in their neighborhoods, at home on a treadmill, in a park, or even on church grounds. There will not be a set route; you can run wherever you’d like and submit your times online between April 24-May 1.

    SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

    While headphones & baby strollers are permissible, pet animals are not allowed on the race route.
