Saturday
The 5K is unique and probably one of my favorite routes. Its a point to point so be mindful about your carpooling. The route starts at Rob's Trail Canadice trailhead. You will start up a nice grassy light grade for 100ft, then BOMB (carefully) down 600ft of technical single track full of roots, rocks, trees, switchbacks and all the fun a trailrunner could ask for. THIS IS -17% GRADE for .5 miles on single track. Get to the bottom of the hill and hammer some flat gravel for the last mile and a half. This will be FAST and should be seriously considered if you plan to be a front runner. The 15K will start at the SOUTH end of Canadice Lake heading NORTH on the gravel road, crushing a LEFT turn and heading up an AWESOME climb on Canadice hill. a quick muddy loop and back down to the lake for trip to the south end back to start to finish. This is a FAST out and back, expect MUD! The Full Marathon! This will be such a great run. Starting at the SOUTH end of Canadice Lake, traveling up to the NORTH end for a little loop, then over and down to Hemlock Lakes WEST side for a short beach run on some cobbles, back around to climb the hill again, through some mud and back to to the start at Canadice Lakes South end. This is a super fun beautiful route two big climbs with two super fun downhills. 50% single track 40% gravel and maybe 10% paved, you'll get to see just how awesome the lakes are in the fall. I don't think we can be more excited for this opportunity.
Be Excited!
Be excited! We are!We are working with a small organization to partner with the DEC for trail maintenance. Twisted Branch Trail Run The Twisted Branch Trail has everything you are looking for in an ultra running experience. This is a classic, old school point to point trail that’s rooted in the Finger Lakes region of NY. Wind your way through some of the most brutal & beautiful places you can find. This is the perfect summer destination race. Bring your family and explore the trails, parks, wineries, breweries & lakes. You know you want to run long, now it’s time to get Twisted. For more details visit our website 20 HOUR CUTOFF!!All Finishers - UTMB Qualifier - 4 PointsWestern States Qualifier (Under 20 hours) Course Overview The Twisted course follows the historic Bristol Hills Branch trail, a nearly 60+ year old trail stretching between 2 of the coolest small lake towns you can find anywhere in the world. This is the kind of race you bring your family to. The kind you can build a vacation around. There’s no nicer place to be in August than in the Finger lakes. This race is hard. Do not let its
course profile fool you. While this is a runnable trail, this is not a groomed park trail. This unforgiving course challenges the strongest of runners both mentally and physically. Sections that appear to be flat on the elevation profile may be the hardest miles you do all day. Don't underestimate how difficult it will be to finish this race. The trail is nearly 95% single track, winding its way through some of the most wild places you can find. Places you didn’t think existed in New York.
