The MV Winter Classic and Amity Relay is a "must race" for die-hard runners of many levels. From highly competitive athletes looking for a test of their Boston and spring marathon readiness to dedicated recreational runners seeking to extend the length of their monthly long-run, this race offers the chance to combine a visit to one of the East Coast’s most beautiful shore communities with a race on a fast, USATF certified course.

The MV Winter Classic and Amity Relay will benefit several Island youth programs. Proceeds from your registration fee will be distributed among these programs to help offset expenditures and rising costs of operation.

​It takes a lot of people-power to pull off such a great event like the MV Winter Classic. Luckily there are so many great people, youth organizations & sports teams on the Island, who collaborate for this event, helping to meet the race's volunteer needs and to cheer our runners on. In return for their efforts, each participating organization & team receives a share of the event proceeds.

Each runner will receive a long sleeve shirt (guaranteed to the first 300 runners), pint glass, and finisher's medal!

    The Paul White Road Race course is 4.81 miles. The race begins and ends at 6 Chester Street, North Falmouth MA, between North Falmouth Library and Megansett Park on the site of the former Paul White's Market. The course has three moderate hills, the last one being the longest and right before the finish line.

    This race was created to commemorate local legend Paul White and to serve as the main fundraiser for the North Falmouth Village Association. The monies raised will be used to fund NFVA operating costs and 4 college scholarships for North Falmouth graduating seniors.

    T-shirts will be available for purchase for $20 at all Bib pick-up locations and on Race Day.

    Immediately following the race refreshments will be available for participants and awards will be awarded to Top 3 male and female finishers in each age category.

    Registration:

    REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT 10PM, THURSDAY, AUGUST 6th, (SUBJECT TO OVERALL LIMIT OF 1,600 RUNNERS). participants will be able to register themselves and their families for this year’s race. During the registration process, participants will:

    • Sign up for the race

    • Pick race shirt size

    • Have the opportunity to purchase additional race gear (hats, sweatshirts, speciality tees and tanks, etc.)

    • Make an additional, optional, donations to the Chilmark Community Center

    All pre- ordered merchandise will be available for pick up at the Center along with your race shirts, numbers and information. NO SHIPPING!!!

    Fees:

    $35 ages 12 and older, $25 ages 11 and under. Entry fee includes a race t-shirt and personalized bib (for entries prior to July 20).

    Race Store Only:

    STORE ONLY CLOSES AT 8:00pm, AUGUST 3rd. Shop for race gear if not registering for race.....Starting at 8am on July 1st and continuing to 8pm on August 3rd. All items must be picked up at the Center at check-in. NO SHIPPING!!! Have a friend pick-up if you can't get to check-in.

    Check-in:

    Check-in will be 5:00-7:00pm Friday, August 7th and 8:30-9:30am Saturday, the 8th.

    Awards:

    Prizes will be awarded to men and women by age groups: 8 years and under, 9-11, 12-16, 17-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90 and over.

    Bus:

    A bus will provide transport from Vineyard Haven to Chilmark for runners taking the 8:15 am ferry from Woods Hole arriving in Vineyard Haven at 9:00 am.

    Miscellaneous:

    Net proceeds benefit the Chilmark Community Center. (Fees do not include processing & service charges.) No refunds. No exchanges or transfers, without express permission of the race director.
