Muddy Kids is 2 and 3 mile adventure event series for families and kids ages 5–15, with fun and challenging obstacles, mud, and entertainment for the whole family.

Muddy Kids is the perfect event to reconnect, strengthen relationships, have fun, get active, get muddy, and bond as a family!

Muddy Kids is not just about getting dirty, it’s also about challenging yourself, having fun, and working as a team with your family. So gather up your family and friends, put on your mud-friendly clothing and shoes, and get ready to take on the Muddy Kids Family Obstacle Mud Run. We can’t wait to see you there!

Event details and schedule

The venue opens one hour before our first batch. We advise that you arrive 45 minutes before your start time, so you have plenty of time to go through registration before we call you to the start pen for warm up 5 minutes before you start on your selected batch time.

Spectators are welcome for FREE, please note kids must be accompanied by an adult/legal guardian. There will be an event village where they can cheer you and your kids on at the start and finish line.

We have a Bag Drop ($5 on the day) where you can leave your stuff until you have completed the course.

A minimum of 1 Adult and 1 Kid need to register. A maximum of 4 Kids can register per 1 Adult. Additional Adult and Kid tickets can be purchased separately.

The minimum age for a Kids entry is 5 years young – but please, parents/legal guardians, kids (up to 13 years old) must be accompanied by a registered, participating adult. Event waivers must be signed by a parent or legal guardian of all Kids under the age of 18. No waiver, no run, no exceptions.

The Smith Point Triathlon starts at Smith Point County Park, with a fast 500 meter Narrow Bay swim and continues on to a flat and fast 10.2 mile bike ride over the Smith Point Bridge (TWO LOOPS THIS

YEAR), followed by a scenic 5K run over the bridge ending at the Atlantic Ocean.

The bike course will now be two loops on William Floyd Parkway.

The safety and satisfaction of our athletes are always our top priorities. After our safety meeting with local municipalities, we are updating the bike course layout for the upcoming event to further prioritize your well-being. By adjusting the bike course to feature two loops, we are doubling up on police coverage during the race, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all participants. Your safety is paramount to us, and this adjustment reflects our commitment to providing you with the best possible race experience.

All participants receive a Finisher Medal.

Participants registered after July 28th are not guaranteed an event shirt.

Who is ready to be a Maniac?

This fun and exciting triathlon takes place at Smith Point County Beach, Shirley NY. The open water swim is in the calm waters of the Smith Point Bay. The bike course

follows Fire Island Beach Rd. The Run is expansive that includes 2 tunnels and a boardwalk view of the Atlantic Ocean. It's the perfect venue to spectate as you will be able to see your athletes swim, bike and run!

New for this year we are adding a Duathlon! A Short Sprint into Transition, Bike then Run!

All Maniacs will receive a race medal and swag. Podium awards will be given to the top three girls and top three boys for each age bracket (7- 17).

The Race Features:
- 8K and 5K Courses - both lead you through the gorgeous vineyard property. Races start at 9 AM.
- Flat Course mostly on hard packed dirt trails and short cut grass. Walker friendly, registration required to participate, must start on time behind pack of runners at 9 AM.
- Professionally Chip - timed with live streamed results.

Important Race Day Details:

- Late arrivals may pick up swag, but may not start onto the course after 9AM start time for safety reasons. Course markings are changed during the race.
- Walkers and children welcome to participate. Registration required to be on the course for safety of all participants. Walkers should register for the 5K not the 8K in the interest of time. 1 Hour Time limit for 5K. 1 Hour 40 Min Time limit for 8K. Time Limits kindly requested in respect of staff and volunteers' time on the course.
- Parking is on-site and free. Arrive early to park & allow time for a short walk to the check-in and starting line.
- Race is rain or shine. No transfers or refunds.
