    Welcome to the “Women+ TakeOver"

    at Bryce Bike Park!

We aim to celebrate the women, gender diverse riders & industry leaders in our region who help make mountain biking a place for everyone. It's a special weekend for those looking for adventure, learning, empowerment & camaraderie.

Bryce Bike Park is a perfect venue for new or experienced mountain bikers to come together and bond over this amazing sport!

*The TakeOver is not recommended for brand new mountain bikers. You should have at least started your journey to off road riding and have ridden a mountain bike. Novice riders - yes. Newbies - no.

    What's Included

All of the TakeOver Packages include:

Bike Park Lift tickets- for weekend packages, your ticket is good all day Saturday and Sunday. For one day options, your ticket is good for the one day you attend. Friday lift tickets are sold separately.

Workshops- several great topics are offered on a variety of topics…even Fly Fishing!

Group ride Friday - to Lake Laura w/ the chance to jump in the lake!

Free Laps with Coaches: sign up on site to ride laps with your favorite coach!

Expo- there will be a variety of vendors from the bike industry as well as others we thought you would enjoy.

T-Shirt- included with all packages if registered by June 18th. Limited supply for sale at the festival.

Panel Discussion - join us for a lively and informative talk with our coaches and industry pros. It's always a hit!

Raffle Drawing- immediately after the panel discussion / you must be present to win. Purchase tickets at the event. Raffle proceeds go to: Dogs Deserve Better Blue Ridge.

Happy Hour (Saturday at 6:00PM) - great time to hang with your new friends and TakeOver coaches!

DownDuro Race (Sunday 11:30-12:30) This is a one run downhill race on a blue / intermediate course. Take part in one the largest women's only downhill races in the country. Beginners welcome and cheered on!

Beach Access to Lake Laura - Chill out and cool down at the lake. Use your wrist band for weekend access.

Camping - (Extra fee) - we have a nice grass covered / shady space just 2 miles from the resort. Tents and campers welcome. Porta-Potty provided, no showers.

    Options To Attend the TakeOver

We have several options for how to attend:

FULL ACCESS WEEKEND PACKAGE WITH 2 CLINCS: This is the pinnacle TakeOver experience! Most participants choose this option as a way to continue progressing their skills. (With this selection, you get everything included in the list above + 2 Skills clinics; ONE EACH DAY). Must be age 12 & over to take clinics.

After selecting the “Full Access Weekend w/ 2 clinics” category box on registration, you will then select one (2 hour) clinic each day. It can be either an AM or PM clinic, (total of one each day) for an overall total of 2 for the weekend. We do not offer clinics to single-day tickets because we don't feel it promotes the community building that the TakeOver is all about. However, any unsold clinics will be offered for sale on an individual basis the week before the TakeOver.

Full Weekend or One day Package with No Clinics: You get everything included in the list above, however you are opting out of skills clinics.

JUNIOR SHREDDER PACKAGE - For juniors ages 8-11. Riders can be any ability level and will stay together as a group. They will have a dedicated coach with them for the day for more of a “summer camp” style experience. They will get coaching, some bike set up and mechanic skills & have time to rip tons of laps! They may attend any of the workshops we offer and are encouraged to race the DownDuro.

**All coaching is included with the Jr Shredders package. Do not make additional clinic selections from the registration list.

***Discount for Season Pass Holders: If you have a 2026 Bryce Bike Park season pass, use coupon code: seasonpass Please bring your pass to check in.

    THE SKILLS CLINICS:

We have assembled a group of the most experienced professional coaches in our region to bring you a wide variety of clinics and ability levels. There's something for everyone.

It can be tricky to determine your skill level when signing up for clinics. We aren't always the best judge of our own skills and abilities! To help you with that, we have labeled our clinics with a rating of Level 1 to Level 3. Please consider your experience and skill for each different clinic topic, not necessarily your overall skill as a rider. We hope this makes it easier for you to select the appropriate clinic.

Keep in mind, mountain bike progression is not necessarily linear. You may be a Level 3 for one skill set and a Level 1 for another. For instance, you may be an Elite XC racer who crushes technical terrain at a Level 3. But you have never learned to Jump, so you should sign up for a Level 1 Jump Clinic.

If you have any questions about which clinics to sign up for, please contact us and ask.

    Skill Clinic Levels - Described

    LEVEL 1:

-You’re a novice rider or you’re new to the topic being taught. Focus is on building a strong foundation for this skill set to grow on.

-You’re looking for a good refresher on the topic to build your confidence.

-You want to learn correct techniques or break bad habits.

**For Level 1 Jumps and Drops: you have little to no experience with jumps or drops and are learning them for the first time. Or you have some experience, but have never taken a lesson for Jumps or Drops and want to ensure that your skills are solid before advancing.

    LEVEL 2:

-You’re comfortable with the fundamentals for the topic and are still working to make them happen automatically.

-You have good bike handling skills and you’re comfortable riding a variety of terrain.

-You want to ensure your skills on the topic before moving to more advanced techniques.

**For Level 2 Jumps and Drops: you have some experience with small jumps and drops, but want to solidify the proper techniques so you can advance with confidence. It’s preferred that you have taken a prior Jump/Drop lesson.

    LEVEL 3:

-You have a solid foundation for the topic being taught.

-You have strong bike handling skills.

-You’re confident on most terrain but are still adding to your tool box and refining technique.

**For Level 3 Jumps and Drops: you are regularly getting your wheels off the ground and are clearing small gaps, medium sized table top jumps and drops up to 3’. It’s highly recommended that you have had prior coaching for Jumps and Drops.

    Equipment Requirements

All mountain bikes ridden at Bryce Bike Park must have one form of suspension (no full rigid bikes allowed). Hardtail (front suspension only) or full suspension (front & rear suspension) are both good bikes for the TakeOver. Bryce has bike rentals if needed, or if you just want to try out a more modern ride to what you currently own.

Full faced helmets are recommended for all riders and are required to take clinics, ride the Double Black trails and to race the DownDuro (including practice).

Body Armor, elbow & knee pads, gloves, eye protection are recommended, but optional. Don't let a minor spill ruin your entire weekend!

Full Faced helmets and pads can be rented from the Bryce Bike Park.

    Itinerary:

This itinerary is packed with a variety of workouts. We encourage participants to pick and choose activities like they are at a buffet.

Thursday check-in begins at 11 am ahead of our opening stroke/speed session at James Madison University (JMU) pool. We will start with a light drill set, getting our feel of the water. Then we light the afterburners for a high octane set of 25 and 50’s. We will then get on the bike for a light group spin to the base of a small climb in which we will work on various climbing and descending techniques. These will be key tools to have in your toolbox as this camp will put your climbing and descending skills to the test. The day concludes with an optional track workout of 15x200 meters. An opportunity to turn over the legs while they are still fresh.

Friday is when multisport gets reimagined. The morning starts with a swim set at JMU learning open water skills within a swim set. We will work on drafting, staying efficient in traffic and different self-preservation skills.

Then, refuel and gear up for a brick workout. Starting off with a ride, the group will head out of Harrisonburg rolling toward the mountains. At the midway aid station, we will have your run shoes awaiting. This will be your long run for the weekend on gravel Forest Service roads. Most will perform an out and back course while others may opt for a looped trail which includes some ridgeline running. After the run athletes can either call it a day and hang out in compression boots or jump on their bikes and roll downhill to Harrisonburg.

Saturday is pure and simply a long ride day. At Paul State Park riders will shed anything they do not want to climb with. This is where the day starts in earnest as the terrain kicks up and riders climb 9 miles at an average 5.8% grade. Most riders will finish between 1 and 2 hours. A support vehicle will follow today's ride and meet riders at the summit to savor the views and take some photos before enjoying the long flowing paved descent. Riders will have the option to descend back down to Paul State Forest completing a 35 mile ride or roll down the backside completing a 75 mile loop totaling more than 7500’ of climbing.

Sunday is the legendary 4 hour points event at Arrowhead Lake. This is the essence of multisport fun. Some design their dream triathlon, and others will choose to bounce between their favorite two sports. Then there are those few that just stick to seeing how far they can go in 4 hours in a single sport. A 500 yard open water swim course, 17 mi bike course, and 5k run course will be supported for 4 hours. Athletes will get a designated amount of points for completing each of the loops. The multisport extravaganza will be followed up by a closing BBQ.

    Travel:

Athletes are responsible to arrive at the Hotel Madison by 11am on Thursday.

    Hotel Address:

    710 S Main St

    Harrisonburg, PA

Athletes can leave from Arrowhead Lake after multisport day or be transported back to Hotel Madison.

    Weather:

    Average high 85

    Average low 65

    Sound too difficult?

We call it our escalator. Jump in the van and we will bring you up to the ridge. This will set you up to have the most scenic and enjoyable experience possible.

    What kind of bike?

We recommend a time trial bike or road bike.

Time trial bikes are welcome, but a road bike is preferred given the technical nature of most of the roads.

Bike rentals are available for an additional $250.

    Water Temperature:

Expected open water temperature will be between 76-84F. Wetsuits may be packed, but are not required/recommended.

This camp is being organized by Good Stuff Coaching, French Creek Racing, and FA.S.T. Racing. Jointly, we have produces dozens of successful camps at various locations.
