Baptist Health Paducah will host its annual Spokes for Stroke bicycle ride on Saturday, July 11, 2026, to increase our community stroke awareness and raise funds to invest in life-saving technologies and expanded our stroke care services. Our goal is to keep our community healthy, while giving participants the tools they need to spot a stroke when it is first happening and to help them learn ways to prevent a stroke from occurring.

This is a wonderful bike tour on four well-marked routes through beautiful McCracken, Marshall and Graves counties. Each route is SAG-supported with refreshments and toilet facilities at rest stops as follows: 65 miles with rolling hills (six rest stops), 35 miles (four rest stops), 20 miles with rolling hills (two rest stops) and 10 miles with a flatter terrain in McCracken County (with one stop). Our event begins and ends at Baptist Health Paducah’s Imaging Center, located near Broadway and Joe Clifton Drive, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. The ride will begin promptly at 8 a.m.

For your safety, HELMETS ARE REQUIRED!

Race start and finish behind the Carterville Community Center

Join us for the first Sundown Showdown. Race start and finish behind the Carterville Community Center. This event resembles a high school-style cross country meet, using standard scoring and a 5K course. This is a team event, with 3-5 runners per team. (3 scoring runners per team) If you don't have a team or enough people to make an entire team, we will help you on race day to put a team together. You can run the race solo, if you prefer. You can expect mostly grass with a little gravel and paved path in the mix.

Awards for the top 20 female and male runners as well as top team in each division (Male, Female, and Mixed).

Team scores are calculated by adding up the finishing positions of the top five runners on each team. Each runner earns points based on their finishing place (1 point for 1st, 2 points for 2nd, and so on). The total points for the team's top three runners are summed, and the team with the lowest total score wins.

    Race Markings

Race will be marked with the following paint

    Mile 1 - Red

    Mile 2 - White

    Mile 3 - Blue

There will be a lead vehicle to guide the runners through the course.

    10:00 PM - RIDE!!!

The 10-mile route may not be long enough to capture all the fun! Riding in the dark makes even an everyday route feel mysterious and new again. The heightened alertness created by the surrounding night sky makes riding feel more intense and can lead to an exciting adrenaline rush, even when pedaling at a leisurely pace. There's no chance of sunburn. The temperature usually cools after dark, which can improve energy and lead to surprisingly better performance. A well-illuminated bicycle at night is more eye-catching to a driver than a bicycle during the day.

Riders pedal at their own pace along marked city streets. People of all ages, sizes, and riding abilities on all kinds of bicycles love this ride! Kids with adults are welcome. Youth groups, poker clubs, date-night couples, neighborhood groups, sports teams, out-of-towners—anyone who wants their entertainment dollars to do double duty for a good cause will find that the Moonlight Bike Ride fosters a sense of unity, closeness, and adventure.

The ride starts and finishes at BikeWorld (809 Joe Clifton Dr). Bikes are required to have front and rear lights to legally be on the street after dark. Additional creative lighting of all kinds is encouraged. Helmets are required.

All proceeds from this memory-making ride benefit Paducah Cooperative Ministry (PCM). PCM assists those in need of housing and/or food. PCM provided groceries to an average of more than 400 food-insecure households and 404 low-income seniors each month in 2025. Additionally, PCM provides transitional housing for women, mothers, and their children in the ministry’s Fresh Start Village and works to assist anyone in a situation of homelessness.
