Join the Northern Pocahontas Wellness’ 12th Annual Space Race Rumpus-a road and mountain cycling family-friendly festival. Pocahontas County, WV, has some of the most scenic roads and trails in the mid-Atlantic. The rides and races explore both the Observatory's unique property and the surrounding area.
Come participate in guided road and mountain bike rides and compete in low-key, beginner-friendly races near radio telescopes! There will be rides and races for all ages and levels, as well as cycling clinics and vendors. We’ve improved our trail system and added some awesome new beginner courses this year. We’ll feature local brews and music each night.
Each night will be a social event with tours of the night sky, bonfires, refreshments, and live music. Register and come for the whole weekend, or the main event Saturday. On site meals (other than the Saturday Dinner included in registration already) will be available for purchase. However, campers are welcome to bring their own food.

(Dinner and concert tickets can be purchased individually on the day of the event, if you are only attending concerts and meals.)
Proceeds benefit the Northern Pocahontas Wellness Center.
Please note that only the first 400 people who register will be eligible for campsites and on-site meals. The observatory cafe will be open to all registrants and the public, and an off-site lodging guide is available on the website.
