Join us for the 21st Annual FUNd Run, presented by Service Thread, and support Scotland Memorial Foundation’s work to improve health and wellness in the communities it serves! Not only will you be doing something good for your own health, but you’ll help raise critical resources to benefit patients and families.

This includes providing assistance for:

The Diabetes Education Fund at Scotland Health Care System &

Scotland Cancer Treatment Center’s Patient Support Fund

    Please note that there is no rain date for the HOLLA! 5K and no refunds will be issued. The race will take place rain or shine.

    A History of HOLLA!

    HOLLA! was founded in 2005 to support education in the Anson County School System. Inspired the by these words of Frederick Douglass, "It is easier to build strong children, than to repair broken men," the organization strives without ceasing to level the playing field for the underprivileged and disenfranchised.

    Realizing that mentoring and tutoring was not quite enough, the founders of the organization sacrificed personal funds to purchase a former hardware store in the rural town of Morven, NC to better serve the community. Thanks to a grant from The Golden Leaf Foundation, they were able to convert the rugged 1920's structure into a modernized resource center, complete with a commercial kitchen, cafe', media center, activity rooms and office spaces. On the outside, the building has a regulation tennis court - the home of The HOLLA! Eagles Tennis Team.

    The facility offers free, phone, fax and other services to the local community. It also hosts mentoring, tutoring, summer camps, after school, cultural and many other community events and meetings.

    The Purple Crusaders are hosting the 5th Annual Longest Day Walk fundraiser and are excited to offer the END ALZHEIMER’S 5K Pee Dee Grand Prix event on Saturday, June 21st at Arrowhead Park in Cheraw. Registration required for 5K Race participants. FREE to Walk! Donations accepted to Purple Crusaders with proceeds to support local initiatives to ENDALZ. The Purple Crusaders are a nonprofit 501c3 organization in the Cheraw/Chesterfield area. Our mission is to advocate for families dealing with Alzheimer's disease by raising funds and awareness for care, support, and research.
