Run the Branch 5k

Your First Mud Run is the ONLY mud run in the country designed so both parents and kids can run together. Our courses are 1.5 - 2 miles and include 10 - 16 obstacles that are designed for adults and kids. If you ever thought about doing a mud run, ours is the perfect "first timer" event! Anyone 5 years old and up can participate in the fun! We are the largest "family friendly" and "first timer" Mud Run in the country!

The Raleigh Convention Center serves as the headquarters for this high-energy, two-day event, featuring a modern, light-filled space designed for peak performance. This condensed two-day schedule is packed with opportunity, offering Elite/Age Group sprints, the grit of the Ruck wave, and the synergy of 2-person and 4-person teams. The weekend also hosts the DEKA FIT Ultra, inviting the Southeast's toughest athletes to leave everything on the floor in the heart of the Carolinas.

Registration opens this Friday, February 20th for the Zebulon B & G Club 5K Run.

The 5k starts at 8am on Saturday August 29th.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are an oasis of cultural significance, both past and present, and are leading sources for black graduates. However, the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) are still lacking proper representation of minority groups, including women. The HBCU STEM Education Run (STEMER) strives to raise funds and awareness through fitness. Each year, funds are dedicated to improving STEM education and accessibility for black individuals. This year, we're bringing our signature 5K to Raleigh to support our mission to "Educate, Empower, and Elevate HBCU STEM Students through Scholarships and Career Resources".

Race alone, with a friend, or with a team. Whether you are an HBCU alum/student, STEM graduate, or just passionate about education, this run is for you! Come join us to support STEM education at these crucial institutions.

SCHEDULE:

7:30 AM: Onsite Packet Pickup (Please note onsite REGISTRATION ends exactly at 8:00 AM)

8:00 AM: Pre-race Welcome Program

8:30 AM: Race Start

9:45 AM (tentatively): Award Ceremony and Scholarship Presentation

$50 awards for 1st place male and female winners sponsored by Fleet Feet Raleigh!

The 50th Annual Boys & Girls Club Selma Railroad Run 5K is Saturday, September 19th, 2026 at 8:30am. This 5K road course is a flat and fast USATF certified course.

The 5K registration fee is $25 per person as an early bird deal until 8/20/26. Fee is $35 after 8/20/26. An awesome short-sleeve Railroad Run race t-shirt is included FREE with registration, but we can only guarantee a size for those registered before 8/31/26.

All participants have the option to be timed with a race bib, but recreational non-timed participants are very welcome and will have a great time. Only timed participants will receive an official record of their finish time. DOGS ARE WELCOME - must be kept on a leash at all times. And don't forget about the Caboose Run: at approx. 8:45am we will host a 1/2 Mile Kids Caboose Run from the starting line just after the registered runners take off - no need to register for that particular event.

Awards will be given to the top runners in age and gender categories, plus overall male and female winners. Categories are ages 6-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+.
