Stride Along the Tide 5K

Run for a cause. Run with the Y. Join the Saugus Family YMCA's Not a Walk in the Park 5K and help support your community. This family-friendly run/walk takes you through the beautiful scenery of Breakheart Reservation in Saugus. Registration includes post-race refreshments and prizes for runners in every age category. All proceeds support the YMCA of Metro North Annual Fund to provide access to YMCA child care, camp, and health and wellness programs to everyone.

NEW this year! Our "Family Rate" allows 4 participants from the same family household to register together for just $100. This rate is for family members only-- perfect for parents, kids, and siblings ready to get active together!

The YMCA of Metro North Road Race Series raises funds for a variety of charitable activities that benefit our community. Participants in our four unique 5K races run or walk to support the YMCA of Metro North Annual Fund and raise money to provide access to YMCA child care, camp, and health and wellness programs to everyone. In 2025 the YMCA of Metro North provided more than $3 million in financial aid providing all children, adults and families with opportunities to develop a healthy spirit, mind and body regardless of income.

Get ready to celebrate and showcase Black Excellence at our 5k event, where we come together to run, walk, and uplift each other in person!

Join us for the Black Excellence 5k event this year! The course remains the same, but the location has changed. We are now beginning and ending at Grace Methodist Church in Lynn!

So lace up your sneakers and get ready to run or walk with us as we celebrate Black Excellence in our community. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to support a great cause, this event is for you. Enjoy a scenic route through the city while connecting with others who share your passion for health and empowerment. Don't miss out on this opportunity to show your support for the North Shore Juneteenth Association and be a part of something special. See you there!

Join our mission to provide financial assistance by reaching one of our meaningful fundraising levels! Every dollar you raise supports vital Y programs in our community.The Starting Line: Registration Level. Simply signing up supports our cause and starts the transformation!

Causeway Cruiser: Raise a total of $50.

Harbor Master: Raise a total of $100.

Hill Hero: Raise a total of $250 or more to become one of our top champions!

Course Details: This course is stroller and dog friendly (well-behaved dogs only).

Refund Policy: All sales are final, no refunds will be offered.

Timing: Timing Provided by Bay State Race Services

Swag: Tee Shirt (unisex crew neck) first come first served while supplies last. Shirts must be picked up by the start of the race.

Parking: Free on-site parking at the Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA.

Friday Pick-up: Friday, May 15th 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lynch Van Otterloo YMCA 40 Leggs Hill Road, Marblehead.

Results, Awards & Celebration

• Results: Posted at the finish line and emailed to participants post-race.

• Overall Winners: Medals for 1st Place Male & Female.

• Age Groups: Medals for Top 3 Male & Female: 13 & under, 14–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+.

• Open Categories: Medals for Top 3 Non-binary and Top 3 Wheelchair finishers.

• Local Honors: Special prizes for the 1st Place Male & Female Marblehead residents.
